Delivered to Lauda Air in Nov-00, Lauda were merged into Austrian Airlines in Oct-04. The aircraft is still in service with Austrian (as of Dec-13).

Niki Lauda (helmet) at the 1974 Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport, Ontario. The Ferrari driver led most of the race but crashed after a tire puncture.
Archiving more than 50 years' worth of photos and came across this one and many other racing images from early in my career, images I'd totally forgotten about. The negs were in great condition, scanned using my old Epson V330, then barely touched in Photoshop.

Richard Lauda ( January 3, 1873 , Jistebnice [1] - July 24, 1929 , Tábor ) was a Czech painter and graphic artist , a South Bohemian artist, an enthusiastic democrat and a culturally active man.
The son of Jistebnicky's tanner and the beast [1] studied at the grammar school in Tabor, he also learned to be a buyer.
From 1895 to 1901 he graduated from the Prague Academy with Professor Max Pirner , as well as Laud's peer and colleague Max Švabinský .
After returning ( 1901 ) to his native village he traveled to the Adriatic and to Italy and in 1904 he went to Munich , where he refined in lithography . He continued his studies in 1911 and spent three months in Paris .
In 1916 or 1917 he joined the 75th Regiment in Jindřichův Hradec. [2] Here in the garrison church of st. Jana was involved in restoring frescoes .
In 1919 he married in Jindřichův Hradec 19 years younger Marie Školaudyová. [2] from here. In 1922 their son Bořivoj Lauda was born. Richard Bohuš Lauda's brother (1883-1918) is known as a sculptor .
The first graphic performance was in publications from 1903 and 1907 - Young Joy and Parents and Children (published by the Czech Graphic Union ). In 1919 , Laud's cycle of etchings was published by the South Bohemian motifs (F. Topic publishing house).
In Paris, he created 19 copies of old master paintings in the Louvre , many separate prints at home (eg Starci , Sower - 1919 , Reader - 1925 ) and in 1924 the etching cycle of Tabor ; the last graphic work was a series of etchings Bridge Construction in BechynÄ› (from 1926 - 1928 ).
Lauda is also known as an author in his time of popular school paintings - wall lithographs (known as the Four Seasons ) and book illustrator.
His impressive work captures the beautiful region of Jistebnice and Tábor . "I like my region and I love to be swarming with our peasant people in the wild ...," Lauda said in his confession.
Since 1925, Richard Lauda has lived in Tábor and has contributed significantly to cultural and social life. As one of the organizers of the great "South Bohemian Exhibition" - in the summer of 1929 in Tábor - he devotedly rescued exhibits when the storm on July 4 destroyed pavilions on the Jordan shore. He was exhausted here and died in three weeks of pneumonia .
