Last light of the day experienced, admired and photographed on our way back from Playa de Santiago, La Gomera, Spain 2013.

As our ship headed northeast from South Georgia, we were treated to one of our last sightings of icebergs and remnants from the world's once largest iceberg, A23a.

Early November and the last colors of autumn will be gone within a week in central Connecticut. Autumn is considered the best season for pictures by many photographers - but I just feel trepidation as it advances. Growing up in a warmer climate just makes me yearn for the summer when this far from the equator. Time for me to suck it up.

This was the last hoverfly that I saw this year and it was visiting a Black-eyed Susan. Due to a few nights of frost, most of the Black-eyed Susans had already died and there were tons of bees and a few hoverflies going crazy to gather pollen from the few flowers that remained. Another heavy frost was due that night, so it could have been the insects' last pollen gathering day in this flower patch.

Taken Thursday evening, the night before the snow rolled in on our Alpine adventure.

Had a fun half hour flicking between this sunset and the light on Mont Blanc and of course remembering to change the settings continually too!
