Tape for Macro Mondays
This time three years ago I was starting to plan for our summer holiday to Italy. I was looking up flights, researching accommodation and thinking about brushing up my few words of Italian. At the same time I was keeping an eye on the worrying reports emerging from China about a frightening new virus.
Even when I found the most perfect apartment on a charming street in Rome I thankfully held off on booking.
Three years later and I'm still not planning to get on a plane any time soon, not just because of the pandemic (which isn't over) but because our son is living on the other side of the country and we don't have a dog sitter.

Things are kinda going my way these last days, for a change.
I also ended my relationship with Spanish, changed to German course. Have to resit 2 exams and 1 project, but that couldn't be so hard, studying on my own for one extra subject. I feel this language much more. And I do not want to forget what I already know.

After three months of suffering without my 50mm ;), (it was broken) I picked it up from the local postal office today. That's a first snapshot, and more to follow soon - hopefully ;)
Several books, some college texts for learning German/Deutsch, including a booklet I made of the dictionary in the back of the purple book in the middle so I wouldn't lose my place in the book when looking up a word.

Consultation has revealed that Plymouth's migrant workers are far more interested in learning English while in England than in reading books in their own languages.
And we are delighted to be able to help them using Europe Direct funding.
The Kabul Military Training Center recently graduated 44 students in the 16th cycle of their intensive English language program.
Gestern waren wir mit einigen Studenten im Deutschen Currywurst Museum! Dort teilten wir uns in zwei Teams auf und spielten ein Spiel, das darin bestand, die Antworten auf viele Fragen rund um die Currywurst im Museum zu finden. Wusstet ihr, dass man Currywurst in vielen anderen Teilen der Welt essen kann? Wir konnten auch verschiedene Gewürze riechen, die man auf die Currywurst machen kann und haben ein Computerspiel gespielt, bei dem man so schnell wie möglich Currywurst machen musste. Ah! Und wir konnten auch ein bisschen Currywurst probieren! 😛

Yesterday we went with some students to the German Currywurst Museum! There, we split into two teams and played a game which consisted of finding the answers to many questions about Currywurst in the museum. Did you know that they also eat Currywurst in many other parts of the world? We also got the chance to smell different spices that you can add on them and play a computer game where you had to make Currywurst as quickly as possible. Ah! And we got to try a little bit of Currywurst too! 😛

On this community board in Arthur's Hill there are adverts for language courses for people who have English as a second language. This suggests a large first generation migrant community is resident in this area.
🌞Our Summer Courses have finally begun! We kicked it off last Monday with a 'Welcome Breakfast' at our local coffee shop, where we enjoyed delicious pastries, coffee, fruits, juices and each other's company. It was great to meet our new students and to get to know our old ones better!

🌞Unsere Sommerkurse haben endlich begonnen! Wir haben am Montag mit einem "Willkommensfrühstück" im Café nebenan angefangen, wo wir leckeres Gebäck, Kaffee, Obst, Säfte und die Gesellschaft der Anderen genossen haben. Es war großartig, unsere neuen Studenten zu treffen!
