It is still hazy and dark. But in a few hours the sun will win and it will be a beautiful autumn day.

Lake - Italian Landscape

This is the landscape you see every day from the ship. When there is nothing else to do, you can you out to the deck and admire the landscape and keep an eye for wildlife. Not internet, no TV, looking at the landscape is much more relaxing.

BTW, getting the colors right during post-processing was a learning experience for me as the photos come out with a blue cast.

The outings on the Zodiacs were always a lot of fun. You get to see the surreal landscape up and close. The scale is one of the things that makes it so impressive.

Long exposure of the King's creek, leading to the King's fall, which unfortunately I was not able to see because the lookout got damaged in the fire last year and it has not been repaired yet. Got there a bit late, so the sun was not shining on the creek anymore.

Shot with the OM1 handheld, using the electronic ND filter. The image stabilization is amazing, the background is super crisp, the foreground is a bit fuzzy because it was too close to me. I am super happy not having to carry a tripod.

In 1886, the writer Guy de Maupassant published his eyewitness account of Monet at Étretat. "The artist walked along the beach, followed by children carrying five or six canvases representing the same subject at different times of the day and with different effects. He took them up and put them aside by turns according to changes in the sky and shadows." Monet painted the dramatically arched projection in the cliff at Étretat six times from this angle: twice during each of three visits to the Normandy coast in 1883, 1885, and 1886. He refined the pictures in his studio.

Another landscape in Lassen National Park, close to King's Falls. You can see the burnt trees from last year's Dixie fire, and the haze caused by the fire burning in Yosemite several hundreds of miles away. No end to the wildfires.

If Mother Nature could speak.....

her voice would be the most beautiful melody!

Αν η Μητερα Φυση μπορουσε να μιλησει ......

η φωνη της θα ηταν η πιο ομορφη μελωδια!

Wenn die Mutter Natur sprechen könnte ...

wäre ihre Stimme die schönste Melodie!

The Yellowstone River curls around Bumpus Butte and Calcite Springs on it's way north into Montana.

For me it is typical of the beautiful landscapes one finds in the wonderfully varied ecosystem that is Yellowstone.

Enjoy your Sunday!
