San Francisco’s Seal Rocks rise from the Pacific Ocean surf just off the shore of Lands End as the sun begins to set on the western edge of the city.
Lands End in Cornwall is the most westerly place in mainland England as such its a popular tourist destination . At Lands End there are lots of dubious attractions to entice visitors. However if you walk along the coastal path you soon leave the crowds behind . This was taken somewhere between Lands End and Sennen Cove a spectacular cliff top walk
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.
I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .
The majestic Rocky Mountains rise suddenly out of the rolling prairies. The vast grass lands support an abundance of wildlife. The rolling prairie still is prime range for the bison. This unique landscape of mountain and prairie was providing food and shelter for great herds animals long before Europeans reached North America. The photo was taken between Waterton and Calgary, enjoying one side of rocky mountains and another side of rolling prairies… The haystacks in the rolling fields were dyed green, no clue why...

Another slide restoration taken in Cornwall August 1996, and the image really does live up to the place name.
The lands of Glacier National Park are part of the history and culture of the Blackfeet, Salish, Pend d'Oreille, and Kootenai tribes. Starting with fur trappers, Anglo settlers began populating the Glacier area in the early 1800s. Some homesteaders would later become the park's first rangers.

This Sandhill Crane colt comes in to land at Creamer's Field in Fairbanks with its parents (out of frame). This bird was born this year and will accompany its parents for 9-10 months after birth.
Taken 21 August 2021 at Creamer's Field, Fairbanks, Alaska.
Continuing my horns and antlers set with this bison bull photographed in Badlands National Park. His hind legs look like he may have some reptile DNA, but it's just dried mud.

Sometimes even though the sky is completely clouded over the world doesn't seem grey and dingy. Things can still seem bright and good. And even though the lands and trees are brown, you know they're not dead but full of life waiting to burst forth.

With egrets and water fowl in the ruin and beautiful waves on the rocks -- a perfect way to start the year!

Take me back to a time when my parents were young, the wild lands were still wild, and solitude was possible.
