Zaha Hadid's Urban Nebula explored the plastic quality of pre-cast concrete and its potential as a medium for repetitive and fluid form.
The work, manufactured by Aggregate Industries and weighing 28 tonnes, was composed of 150 unique blocks of highly polished black pre-cast concrete bolted together to form a perforated wall.
Urban Nebula was exhibited at the Southbank Centre for a month from mid September 2007.

2009 | The exhibition In Praise of Shadows marked the decision by EU governments to phase out low efficiency light bulbs by 2012. It included work by a wide variety of designers such as Drift, Pieke Bergmans, Loop.ph and many more, as well as films by Clan du Neon - French eco activists who protest against the senseless waste of energy and light pollution by extinguishing neon advertising signs. The show was set up in a dark room containing objects of the museum's collection. The only light sources were some of the exhibits on show as well as a torch light that each visitor was given when entering.

2009 | Marc Newson's Supercell. Made of brightly coloured enamelled hexagonal steel panels, it took the form of an exaggerated funnel. Sponsored by ArcelorMittal, the world’s leading steel company. Talking of what inspired him to create it, Newson comments:
“The starting point for this project was the underlying structure of biological growth. I used a conic section and a hexagonal grid to express biological forms in this installation.”

Installed on the river terrace of Somerset House, Portrait was created by designers Fredrikson Stallard. The Corten steel form imitated a plank of wood, the shape magnified and transformed using a combination of steel and light to recreate the familiar grain structure.

The steel beam that was signed by students and facutly/staff on the first day of school, was put in place in the new dining room area. (Oct 2011) Students were able to tour the dining room to see the progress and look at the beam. Pictured are students with Lower School Director, Betsy Gugle. Betsy commented: "The girls absolutely loved being able to see the space today," one Form V student said, “This is going to be so amazing—we switch sides of the dining room and get windows!”
