....Amur falcon
View in large.
Taken at Masirah Island, Oman
Its right wing has a wound if you could notice. I saw a Common Kestrel mobbing this bird several times.
The Amur falcon (Falco amurensis) is a small raptor of the falcon family. It breeds in south-eastern Siberia and Northern China before migrating in large flocks across India and over the Arabian Sea to winter in Southern Africa

And finally landed with his prize folks, hence
the one legged landing, and he could hardly lift it up.
Yesterday started out very slow but out to be a fabulous day with more Hawks and Merlin and even some Kestrel's, and as always everyone, thank you for everything.
An echo of my name went over the great plains of destiny and destination.
So I went running to see him again.
I took that leap feeling fully recovered and fully grown.
Not plucked; of my own accord.
I landed ever so gently. A sigh of relief. No longer attached to loneliness and the unknown.
So I came running to see him again.
Singing, I sent back my voice penetrating the many dimensions and filling the space that still lies between us. A confirmation of full bloom and rediness to be welcomed home.
So I went running to see him again.
He was in the time of many transitions, trials, and tribulations, but I knew one day these would cease and when the air cleared the divide between us would be no more.
He would come running to see me again.
Finding joy in the wait, yet still longing for his warmth and ways, I settled in a peaceful nest. Life and strife keep me busy until that time; that day....
When he comes running to see me again.
Thank you all for your kind favs and comments. I shall come knock on your door for a visit soon. Happy Sunday Flickr Friends!
Black-shouldered Kite (Elanus axillaris) juvenile
Back to this day last year for the wings today, a bit of a crazy day with lots of interruptions and kids on school holidays.
The three chicks were getting quite competent by this time but landings were sometimes still a bit tricky.
Happy Wing Wednesday!
Perlan Reykjavik
Perlan (English: The Pearl) is a prominent landmark in the Icelandic capital of ReykjavÃk. It is situated on the top of ÖskjuhlÃð hill. What was originally a cluster of hot water tanks was in 1991 converted to a beautiful building open to the public. It hosts an exhibition, a planetarium, an observation deck, and a restaurant. (wiki)
At the Japanese Water Gardens the railing overlooking the pond was scattered with these little golden leaves. A must click for me!
Peter and Oleg fly through and over the clouds with a paper plane made by Mummy Marian.
Oleg is nauseous (because he is airsick) and has landed safely somewhere in the backyard.
However, Peter doesn't know how to land.
PETER:
Oleg...OOOOOOleg!!!! How do I land???
OLEG:
Don't say anything to me....I'm so nauseous....I have to vomit....ugh...ugh
PETER:
I have landed! everything is ok with me!
Gosh ... Oleg .... you look so pale
I think you're not feeling well.
Shall I get you a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream?
I'll just ask Mummy Marian.
OLEG:
Nooooooo...ugh...ugh.
PETER (sigh)
It's never right what I do.
these days the sky over flickrland is full of little miracles.
a soft star arrived in my place, for instance.
it came from Paula's bright galaxy
:o)
Waited quite some time as the birdie flew away nicely and then finally landed back quite close. Really missed the birdie's eyes most of the time. Now this one is better, but would love to have been closer.
