It was one of those complete, random chance encounters, I was walking Bobby and happened upon this lamp left in the street. When I got home I grabbed my camera kit and headed back out, whilst getting mobbed by multiple mosquitoes I managed to get an LE, the light within it is from my mobile with the torch on. I recall the former owner of said lamp opening his window for a cigarette and curiously wondering what the hell I was doing with his former living room furniture.

It's made me consider this new collection, "Life Signs" whereabouts I happen upon rubbish, appliances, ornaments and things abandoned, I want to try and create something from it.

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

It wasn't a photography day out but crossing Westminster Bridge in the evening, I couldn't resist this one!

Another one from the medieval market at the Castle Sandizell in June 2019.

Beautiful lamps on Westminster Bridge.

The ornate, octagonal lanterns are quite beautiful. Grouped in threes, their Gothic design is by Charles Barry, a nod to the architectural style of the palace at the end of the bridge, built around the same time.

Das letzte Bid der Serie

Lampions / Last of the physalis series

Saw this in Highgate Cemetery. I don't know who this lady was, only that her name was Martha as spelled out in pebbles in front of the grave, but she either really liked lamps or was afraid of the dark, but either way, what a beautiful way to decorate your grave.

On the first day of the Tibetan New Year, these lamps were lit for all those being affected by wars and persecution.

This was taken using a medium format 80mm lens wide open, just under f/2.

"La cosa più speciale che mi potessi offrire:

un lampo di infinità.

Che non mi fa dormire e non mi fa vegliare:

ora è per sempre ora

Vieni a farti vela in me e portami con te

c'è un soffio di vertigine che ci sospingerà

La cosa più speciale che mi potessi offrire:

un lampo di infinità.

Che non mi fa dormire e non mi fa vegliare:

ora è per sempre ora

Rimani così nel sogno in cui sei

e lasciati sussurrare:

"Rimani così nel sogno che sei

e lasciati accarezzare"

Rimani così nel sogno in cui sei

e lasciati mormorare:

"Rimani così nei sogni che fai

non ti vorrò ridestare"
