The disease increasingly rots tree roots to the point where they're unable to absorb water, leading to eventual total decay and the inability to stand. I had an idea to laminate graph paper and have a sort of personal dry erase board for my desk with nice lines on it.
It works well until you want to erase it. Then it's about the same as erasing pencil on paper. It takes a lot of effort. Unfortunately, liquid cleaners don't help either.
I'll probably try some wet erase markers before I give up on the idea completely.

This is the view from the living room into the kitchen, and over to the door to the dining room. Floor is Tarkett Escapade wood laminate, in Heritage Walnut. The walls got a new paint color - a cross between gold and yellow. And the trim now has a nice chocolate look. The little light wood table in the corner will be replaced by something more "farmhouse" style.
GONE: Again, sorry to disappoint. Classic Singapore 1960s bookshelf with cute little bronze-tipped legs. We had it refinished and changed the laminate top to a lovely grey--very practical vintage!

7 February 2010: Mast support cross beam and half of the centerboard head are clamped up and will be covered in plastic and heated by the bulb, to hopefully kick the epoxy.
GONE-This unusual laminate is one we have only come across rarely in our hunt for vintage pieces: pink with harlequin pinstripes. It is in amazing condition.
