Often times I'll find an interesting scene to photograph, but it is just out of reach...the photographers lament.

So far, on my explorations of this year's Fantasy Faire grounds, this has been one of my favorite spots. I really like the long tentacly root things.
I found this baby lizard floating in a deep pool after a storm. A light breeze stirred a squaw bush leaf and juniper berry along with her tiny body lulling these remnants of life into their forever sleep. I used in-camera multiple exposure to celebrate their unbecoming.
The monument to the great German writer Johann Wolfang von Goethe (1749-1832), which stands in Villa Borghese, was commissioned by Kaiser Wilhelm II (r. 1888-1918). It was presented to Rome as a sign of the friendship between the Italians and Germans and in memory of the hospitality the city had shown towards the poet.
The monument, which was inaugurated on June 23rd 1904 in the presence of King Vittorio Emanuele III (r. 1900-46), was designed by Gustav Eberlein and carved by Valentino Casali.
what have i become...
its been a long numbing summer. i owe many letters to good friends. apologies. the place i have been was nowhere from which to correspond with the well intentioned and concerned. ive read your letters with an autistic's frustration.
ive become rather feral. i warily squint at tomorrow's promises, remembering yesterday's lies. i know the weight and heft of brutus' dagger - in my bloodied hand and in my blameless back. ive put myself together so many times that i have forgotten where are the original breaks. it would be great to think to myself that i have been on some heroic haj of introspection. no. these are the uayeb times, as the mayans called those evil-bearing days, and i have been beat down hard, beat down until what was left of me was all that truly matters. i had envisioned a triumphator's return when i moved to my land. a new life, new love, an estate of vineyards and horses and a home in which to finally start a family. i had painfully ended a ten year marriage where the promise of having children was held out like a reward for yet another sacrifice. i was going to return to my land and become the man i gave up being - please, my friends, take this to heart; never become tame to being deceived. fight it. demand the truth, no matter the cost - but God and the Devil share a perverse sense of humor and they have had a few laughs regarding my scraped chin. you are never redeemed by your circumstances, only by your submission. ive always been partial to the myth of the Minotaur: a ferocious, primal, brooding force deep inside our personal labyrinths. you cant go too far forward without reckoning with that force. it was not enough to free myself from the circumstances that kept me from having a family and building a world on my land, i had to come to terms with the monster inside. therein is redemption. but the trick to that pony is that you cant destroy it, only deliver it. love it. its the only way out of here.

Il a été intégré au VIIᵉ siècle aux murs d'enceinte de l'Esplanade des mosquées, ou Mont du Temple, lors de la construction du Dôme du Rocher et de la mosquée al-Aqsa.

Sin financiamiento disponible para construir nuevas estaciones de subte -una obra que, hace cien años, fue símbolo de la Argentina del centenario, con la inauguración de la línea A en 1913- la ciudad de Buenos Aires agrupó las obras y eventos con los que planea participar de los festejos bajo el programa "Puertas de Bicentenario". Su responsable, Carlos Ares, cuenta con un presupuesto que se redujo de 22 a 14 millones de pesos para llevar adelante unas 70 obras e intervenciones.
¿Las más importantes? El "ojo del Bicentenario", una instalación que desde marzo y durante seis meses permitirá a los visitantes subir a la cima del Obelisco para contemplar la ciudad; la restauración de la cúpula y el faro del Palacio Barolo, acordada esta semana gracias a una donación del gobierno italiano y varias empresas; o la "cápsula del tiempo", un gigantesco archivo con imágenes, testimonios, videos y sonidos de la ciudad que la gente podrá alimentar con sus propios recuerdos hasta septiembre de 2010, y que luego será almacenado en 300 discos digitales y enterrado en algún sitio a definir para que sean "descubiertos" dentro de cien años .
Con la presencia de Gustavo Santaolalla en el Teatro de la Ribera, esta semana también comienza una serie de "master class" de artistas, pensadores e historiadores, que expondrán sus saberes y experiencias en todos los centros culturales de la ciudad. Otra de las estrellas confirmadas -para el mes que viene, en San Telmo- es el comediante italiano Roberto Benigni, protagonista y director de la premiada película "La vida es bella".
También se creará una nueva "línea" del colectivo turístico que desde hace unos meses recorre Buenos Aires, dedicada sólo a recorrer los sitios relacionados con la historia de la Revolución de Mayo. Y hasta fines de 2010 se sucederán maratones, festivales, desfiles de moda históricos, un show inédito de Les Luthiers, un encuentro de grandes veleros en Puerto Madero, y la entrega de la "medalla del Bicentenario", diseñada por el artista Antonio Pujía, a 200 ciudadanos queridos de la ciudad, elegidos por sus propios vecinos. "Por ahora todos los proyectos están en trámite. Alguno más avanzados y otros no tanto, pero hasta ahora se hacen todos", asegura Ares.

Bueno... poco que decir, un lugar que vio grandes ferroviarios y maquinas a montón. Incluso por ahí en un comentario leí que la maquina E-3230 pasó a tener su última modificación y esquema aquí mismo para EFE.
Lamentable que Fepasa no se interesase en resguardar bien esto, como era el caso de la E-3014.
Mi primera visita a este sitio acompañado de don "Terrachillan", y como bien él decía, se apreciaba un grupo de personas desmantelando.
El verdadero valor y atractivo de los pueblos de la Vega de Granada está en su riquísima cultura agraria que se ha ido trasmitiendo generación tras generación. Lamentablemente en los últimos 25 años todo se está destruyendo a causa de las contrucciones de viviendas de forma brutal en Granada y su area Metropolitana. !!! Salvemos lo poco que va quedando de Vega !!!!. Gracias.
