Last night we ran out to go see a couple of donkeys in a field, and we all decided to post one of our donkey images. The sun was just starting to set and the light was golden. It's the end of our wonderful week together, and I'm on my way home early tomorrow morning. The four of us really bonded and I will miss them immensely, but we will keep our friendship forever. I found this old suitcase in a junk shop we visited that we absolutely loved. To see more of our behind the scenes of our time together, we have a separate Flickr account for that with some very funny commentaries.

Lake Scugog is an artificially flooded lake in Scugog, Regional Municipality of Durham and the unitary city of Kawartha Lakes in central Ontario, Canada. It lies between the communities of Port Perry and Lindsay. The lake has been raised and lowered several times over its history. Though not technically part of the Kawartha lakes due to its shallow depths, it is often geographically linked to them. Its sole outflow, the Scugog River, connects to Sturgeon Lake. Lake Scugog is in the Great Lakes Basin and forms part of the Trent–Severn Waterway.

Once again, I'm sorry I don't have time to comment on all your wonderful images, but we're having such a great time. Last night, we were all inside chatting away, and Coleen came running in, saying "grab your telephotos, I have to show you something!" We ran out to the car, me barefoot, and saw some donkeys in a dandelion covered field cavorting around. We got some great shots, and that's when I turned around and saw this wonderful sky.

During our Flickr meet up we a attempted to shoot a lightning storm, but it started to pour and so we ran off to another a location just to catch the sun setting. In my haste to get the shot off, I forgot to clean the lens from the remains of the rain. This really played havoc on the sunset.

This is part of downtown Port Perry, on the south tip of Lake Scugog, Ontario. A vibrant little town
a tourist attraction both summer and winter. The major attraction in winter is Ice Fishing.

I had descended in the currents undisturbed
tempted by the waters in the sea,
but when my little blue boat hit the rippling fury of tides
I sensed the haulers no longer steered me;
now in the ringlets of back bays lost
my little blue boat sits anchored, swaying and water-tossed.
