One hour before sunset, clouds of puffy cotton balls congregated in the western horizon, promising a light show. Alas, it wasn’t to be as they disappeared as if by an act of prestidigitation and the sun shone alone to the end and sank right on top of the Tropic of Capricorn, on this winter solstice of 2021!

Another clear, crispy, sunny weather that sometimes happens in winter in the northern latitudes. White clouds hovered in the west as the sun set them afire with crimson and ferruginous hues.

It was a topsy turvy, disordered weather system that saw clouds whipping by as the winds increased, blowing snow, like in a blizzard. The wind chill factor soared, but in one moment the sun peeked from behind the roiling clouds and I was ready
I thought that a 20mm focal length would show better the forming ice layer on the lake surface. As it turned out, the reflection on the open patch of water was very sharp and pleasing.
All day the clouds promised spectacular sunset, owing to a deep blue skies above them. Sure enough the sky turned scarlet with gold strewn around.

A balmy day relative to the usual. The late afternoon sun shone fiercely as it turned for home, setting the sky awash in pinks and yellows.
I wanted to cover the freezing waters of Lake Josephine as they reflected the vermilion from the red illuminated clouds above.
