The old wall on the left was the wall of our hotel garden, a former monastery. It was easy to imagine the Monks walking and praying in the peaceful garden. The location was fabulous right on Lake Constance (Bodensee) and it was so lovely to visit again after more than 20 years.
We have had a busy Easter with little time for photography but I look forward to catching up!

Das Pfahlbaumuseum Unteruhldingen ist ein am Bodensee gelegenes archäologisches Freilichtmuseum,dass archäologische Funde und Nachbauten von Pfahldörfern aus der Stein- und Bronzezeit präsentiert. Es umfasst zur Zeit 23 Pfahlbauten. 2011 wurden die Pfahlbauten am Bodensee aufgrund Ihrer hervorragenden Erhaltung unter Wasser zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe der Menschheit erklärt. Sie werden als aussagekräftige Überreste von Siedlungen der Stein- und Bronzezeit (5. – 1. Jahrtausend v. Chr.) in der archäologischen Forschung sehr geschätzt.
The Lake Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen is an open-air archaeological museum located on Lake Constance that presents archaeological finds and replicas of lake dwellings from the Stone and Bronze Ages. It currently comprises 23 pile dwellings. In 2011, the Lake Constance pile dwellings were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Humanity due to their outstanding preservation under water. They are highly valued in archaeological research as significant remains of settlements from the Stone and Bronze Ages (5th - 1st millennium BC).

We stayed one night in a converted monastery on a small island in the Bodensee (Lake Constance) As we arrived the sun was setting so I ran out quickly to get a few snaps. It was peaceful and beautiful there at this time of year.

Hallo liebe Flickr-Freunde,
heute mal der "Beipackzettel" auf deutsch. Ja Romantik, die wollen wir doch alle und Nichts ist schöner, als eine romantische Situation, die auf einem Foto eingefangen wurde. Nun, die Profis unter uns wissen, dass Romantik manchmal ganz schön viel Arbeit bedeutet. Die Kerzen besorgen, das Abendessen kochen, die Wäsche aufhängen und den Müll raustragen. Alles Elemente die eine romantische Situation begünstigen können. Nehmen wir als Beispiel einfach dieses Foto mit dem herrlichen Abendrot und dem Segelschiff in der Sonne. Man war das mal wieder eine Arbeit. Erst haben die dauernd gewendet. Was soll denn das? Ich also ständig mit meinem SUP Board hinter denen her. Endlich hatten sie sich mal beruhigt und steuerten nun quer zum bevorstehenden Sonnenuntergang. So eine herrliche Situation versprüht natürlich nicht nur Romantik, sondern auch Jugend, man könnte sagen "ewige Jugend", denn Segeln bedeutet Dynamik und sich treiben lassen. Für den Fotografen bedeutet dies aber genau abzuwägen, wie nah man denn nun an das Objekt heran darf. Nich zu nah, denn keiner will wissen ob da Oma und Opa unterwegs sind. Nein, es ist der jugendliche Held in uns allen mit seiner atemberaubend schönen Liebesgöttin und wir wollen uns gar nicht ausmalen, was da heute Abend noch alles passieren könnte. Jetzt mal bei der Sache bleiben. Verdammt, der Himmel sieht jetzt gar nicht so romantisch aus in seinem Blassblau eines frühherbstlichen Abends auf dem Bodensee. Also schnell noch dieses Foto, bevor der Nebel einsetzt. Jetzt aber den Rotfilter draufknallen, verdammt, warum ist der denn schon wieder so dreckig? Dieses 150x150mm Format macht mich bekloppt. Von unten brauchen wir noch etwas Blau. Also den Blaufilter auch noch rein. Soweit gut. Natürlich musste ich zu Hause am iMac erstmal noch so einige Algen von der Wasseroberfläche entfernen. Tipp-tipp-tipp, Jetzt noch die Dreckflecken vom Sensor meiner Sony A7. Boah... das ist echt nervig mit dem Sensor. Man müsste ihn eigentlich stündlich reinigen. Irgendein Staubkorn verirrt sich da immer. Nun aber ist das Foto soweit ok und die 5 Minuten am PC Nachbearbeitung haben sich auch gelohnt. Mal schauen, vielleicht lässt das Foto heute Abend auch noch irgendwelche Romantik aufkommen. Wäre echt nicht schlecht. Aber ich bin mir unsicher. Die Katze hat auf jeden Fall fluchtartig das Haus verlassen, als ich gesagt habe "ey, schau mal". Man man man... Ich sag nur noch Meow. Es gab Zeiten, da hat das noch ohne Foto funktioniert. Schauen wir mal....

Die Hafeneinfahrt von Lindau am Bodensee gilt als das Wahrzeichen der Stadt. Sie wird charakteristisch geprägt vom "Lindauer Löwen", der 6 Meter hoch und 50 Tonnen schwer ist. Fertiggestellt wurde das Bauwerk 1856. Die Zahlen sind in römischen Ziffern, MDCCCLVI, im Sandstein eingeprägt. Gegenüber vom Löwen befindet sich der neue Leuchtturm. Dieser sitzt auf einem Sockel von 24 Meter Umfang und ragt 36 Meter in die Höhe. Der Leuchtturm gehört weltweit zu den wenigen Türmen, deren Fassade mit einer Uhr versehen ist.
The harbor entrance of Lindau on Lake Constance is considered the landmark of the city. It is characteristically marked by the "Lindau Lion", which is 6 meters high and weighs 50 tons. The building was completed in 1856 and the numbers are engraved in Roman numerals, MDCCCLVI, in the sandstone. Opposite the lion is the new lighthouse. This sits on a pedestal 24 meters in circumference and it rises 36 meters in height. The lighthouse is one of the few towers in the world whose facade is equipped with a clock.

Life is easier again... Due to very low incidence values in my state
public life takes place again.. Fingers crossed...
During a day trip I have enjoyed visiting the regional garden show at Überlingen recently (a beautiful city, situated on the northern shore of Lake Constance(Bodensee).
Welch ein Tag...
Feriengefühle am Bodensee.
Sonnenschein, + 22 C, herrliche Sicht auf den See und das gegenüberliegende Ufer. In der Ferne die schneebedeckten Schweizer Alpen .
Vor einigen Tagen habe ich die Bundesgartenschau in Überlingen
am Bodensee besucht - ein nicht nur floristisches Highlight.
Niedrige Inzidenzwerte und erhebliche Lockerungen in meinem Bundesland machen das Leben wieder leichter.
