A bit of light painting on the pedalos resting on Lago di Misurina, Dolomites, Italy. There's a wonderful Grand Hotel at the far end. We were staying in the last hotel on the right of the frame with a lake view. Such a beautiful place (despite the pedalos!!!)

Glacial lake Misurina is called the pearl of the Dolomites.
Lake Misurina is the largest natural lake of the Cadore and it is 1,754 m above sea level, near Auronzo di Cadore
(Belluno). The lake's perimeter is 2.6 km long, maximum depth is 5 m.
Misurina lies on the route of the Dolomites Gold Cup Race (Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti).

Ледниковое озеро Мизурина, расположенное на высоте 1574 м, называют жемчужиной Доломитовых Альп. В апреле оно еще стыдливо прикрывает часть своего водного наряда льдом и снегом, предоставляя остальную великолепному отражению вершин Тре Чиме ди Лаваредо и еловых лесов на заснеженных склонах.

On a beautiful morning walking around Lago Misurina. I came here in the evening as well and the pizzas are nice :-)
Some lovely ripples on lake Misurina partially reflecting Mt Sorapiss in the background. Moments later a strong wind blew the cloud up from the valley and completely changed the quality of the scene.
This photo was merged from 2 single shots to get a bit more width into the night landscape. It was taken at Lago di Misurina in late autumn 2017. Cadini di Misurina are the dominating mountains behind the lake. Most probably the light pollution at the right side is coming from Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Die maximale Tiefe des Sees beträgt 5 m. Der 1756 m hoch gelegene See ist vom Südwesten von Cortina d’Ampezzo, vom Höhlensteintal im Norden oder von Auronzo di Cadore, zu dessen Gemeindegebiet der See gehört, im Osten erreichbar.

When we first arrived at Misurina, the weather was gloomy, rainy and windy. A few hours later everything had changed... SOOC.
A year ends, a new one begins. Which one is represented by bright, which one by muted colors? At times only time can tell.

Der See war im Jahre 1956 Austragungsort der Eisschnelllaufwettbewerbe der Olympischen Winterspiele.
It was too late in the year for 'alpenglow' on these mountains but the golden hour was still around!
I was actually walking back to my hotel room when the sun eventually rose. As soon as I saw it, I dropped down to the lake shore and set up! It was a wonderful five minutes and then it was gone and I was off for a coffee.
It wasn't until I was home weeks later that I realised just what a wonderful five minutes it had really been!
