... or 'Cuckoo Pint'. Many other 'folk' names for this, especially when in flower. A lovely surprise on my walk in our local park this morning. I haven't done much to this, just edited a little in Picmonkey. I hope you like it as much as I do !
I won't tell you why it's called "Lords and Ladies". You'll have to look that up for yourselves. It's a bit 'descriptive' to say the least 😃 !
Thank you my friends for all your kind comments and just for looking.

Fishing is very important in Elmina, Ghana. Wives and relatives of fishermen gather on the beach awaiting the return of the long boats. Meanwhile they clean some nets or chat. This beach was once a major loading point for the slave trade as it is adjacent to the infamous Elmina Castle.
Sheep put to graze on fresh grass in Montacute House Park, before their lambs were due to be born. I think that they were anticipating that I was bringing them a treat, as they all looked up and started to walk towards me, giving me a great photo opportunity.

A previously unpublished shot from October 2018. This was one of those shots where I simply couldn't decide on black and white, or colour processing. Enjoy!

The colorist movement, which took place in the '60s, are responsible for the bright colors of the Seven Painted Ladies. During the second World War, many homes were painted in cheap gray paint and the city looked drab. So a local artist, Butch Kradum, began painting homes in bright blues and greens and it caught on.

Norman has a way with the ladies. Total chick magnet. If you are a single dude, my advice to you would be to adopt a French Bulldog as soon as possible. Actually, adopt any dog that needs a home - it's a win-win.

For "Ladies" only!
The contrast of temperature during the day makes the effects like this. It is still winter in the night and morning, and almost spring in the afternoon. These birch trees reminded me of old ladies ready to dance.
Here's one more photo of my favorite alley of birches.

Queen Victoria’s ladies-in-waiting visited here during the royal visit in 1861. They were so taken with the view that it was named after them.
