The expressions on this Labrador's face are almost 'otter' like.

“Hope is the power that gives us the power to step out and try.” (Author Unknown)

This is my 6 year old black labrador retriever named Hope. She is really showing signs of age with her gray muzzle and chin. For the past four years, she has spent many hours "working" as a therapy dog. We visit patients in hospitals and rehab centers (physical and mental), schools, libraries, and assisted living centers. We are also a certified crisis response team and have provided comfort and support to victims and first-responders of crisis' and disasters. She really lives up to her name spreading her love to the many people we have visited.

This photo was in answer to a challenge from a friend after she saw my B&W photo of Patrice from yesterday. She challenged me to get a similar shot of a black dog on a black background in B&W since taking pics of yellow dogs is so much easier. This was my response to that challenge... :-)

Rain is 4 years old and was born on Christmas Day.

Oscar is a 11 year old Labrador. His eyes reflect the wisdom of his years. A classic lab; we met in the Lyman Reserve in Bourne MA

A sweet labrador peers out at Taivas who doesn't think the labrador should be allowed in his own garden, lol.

Along the Trans-Labrador Highway (Rt. 510) on the drive west to Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

As usual, lots of black spruce (Picea mariana).

Labrador, NL Canada.

When walking through the forest always watch your step or you could end up with a whole hive of these things licking your face.

Unusual to be sitting still.

looking constipated

Still getting used to my new Canon.

Chris and I went to the Petco where there were several rescue groups there for a huge dog event. Amazingly I didn't completely freak out around some of the larger breeds e.g. Akitas, a 90 lbs Labrador 1 yr old "puppy," and other even larger dogs that I can't recall. All in all pretty happy group of people there with dogs ranging from the very freaked out (barking like crazy or just outright hiding behind their foster parents), to the "OMG I'm so happy to see you! and you! oh and you!" Fun times and we ended up taking home a puppy.

Getting the hang of my camera, Lily poses for me :)

Uploaded a picture of Jakey because I know, secretly, thats all you ever come for in my gallery :<
