Headboard is 2 gates that were in our backyard 26 years ago, when we moved here. The spinning wheel was brought to America by my great-great-grandmother, in 1800's. The red leather baby buggy was purchased as a surprise for me, by my husband, 20+ years ago, at Goodwill. The gold sunburst mirror has been in my life my entire life. Not sure where it came from, but I love it.
On this Labor Day, remember this…just because you put on chinos instead of work pants, just because you pick up a laptop instead of a mop doesn't mean that you are not a laborer. If your job can be outsourced, you are labor. If your job can be replaced by a computer or machine, you are labor. If you are identified as a "cost" or "expense" on a corporate spreadsheet, you are labor. If your family came here through Ellis Island or more recently through JFK or LAX with the simple dream of working hard to afford a decent life in return, you are labor.
