There are actually two of this kind and they were designed for experiments with constant temperature and air pressure.
These units are not in use any longer since quite a while and are listed buildings.

My boy salvaged these peices of laboratory equipment to make.......laboratory equipment! LOL!
On the left is a stasis chamber and on the right is a controll panel. He has plans. Alpha Male Red Stikfas looks curious.
Alpha Male Red Stikfas is standing on a stack of mod roc which my son also aquired as it was surplus to it's previous owner's requirements.
Pacific Biological Laboratories operated as a biological supply company specializing in preserved specimens and prepared microscope slides, many derived from marine and aquatic species. The laboratory provided materials to schools, museums, and research institutions, and was housed in a building located on what is now Cannery Row, overlooking Monterey Bay in Monterey, California.
The building, its enterprise, and its proprietors were immortalized by John Steinbeck in Cannery Row, where it appeared as the “Western Biological Laboratory.” One of the novel’s central figures, inspired by co-founder Ed Ricketts, pays homage to Ricketts’s influence on both the scientific and literary history of the region. Following a 1936 fire, Steinbeck became financially involved in the laboratory, acquiring half of its stock.
A closer look at the interior of the Scary Laboratory.
I built the towers separately so they can be rearranged to suit different layouts.
The main section includes the operating table and 'Lightning machine' along with some potion vials and a small generator.
The West tower features the 'Test tube room' filled with odd, bulbous sickly green tubes containing the supposed remains of victims of the Mad scientist.
The East Tower features the generator and control panel for the lightning machine.

Thank you all for your visits, faves, invites and wonderful comments !
Astronauts with severe radiation sickness are treated in the DRL on Mars. Advanced medicine can now repair the human body cell by cell, although the therapy can take up to several years to complete. Typically the patient is kept in near-frozen state for the duration. Here we can see the incubator cell is extruded for a treatment session, after which the cell is withdrawn inside the machine.
My first entry for the Space Jam contest. Onto entry number two then!
(Psst! I feel like the backstory makes noooooo sense whatsoever. Hopefully it's just me..)
This is the urban part of my Forest Laboratory MOC.
