This is a (from) Christmas address label that I created to go along with my Christmas cards.
I resized the label (image) to 500 x 200 pixels (2.660 x 1.064 inches)
After the label was finished, I printed the label(s) using Avery Easy Peel paper (25 sheets, 750 labels), which I purchased at a garage sale for $2.00.

There is simply no way I'm going to remember where all the ruddy wires go and even if I take loads of reference photos it'll be hard work figuring it out later, so I decided to label everything. This is a label that has been created by one of our visitors to the display 'The Odditoreum'. This display features a selection of weird and wonderful curiosities from deep within the vaults of the Museum’s collection. Visitors are encouraged to write their interpretation of what these objects may mean to them.
If you printed your labels on fabric (see the Crafty Gemini tutorial craftygemini.blogspot.ca/2010/02/make-your-own-fabric-lab...)...
1. close the enveloppe to figure out where you want them
2. Pin them in place
3. open the enveloppe flat
4. sew them in place
If you don't print fabric labels, I recommend you sew light cradstock to be able to write on or stick labels later. Also if your stamps are adhesif, they might not stick well to fabric so cardstock will do well. For this enveloppe, I will hand sew the labels later but it's much easier when done in advance.
