about one and a half year ago i decided to focus a bit more on macro photography. After searching and reading serveral reviews/labtests i decided to buy the best macrolens (on paper) there was at the moment. The Sigma was new and the test's were showing this was an extremely good performing lens. I went to the store and they told me it was the last one at that moment available in the Netherlands(lol). Once connected to the cam i inmidiately became infected with some greed and bought it.

Shooting macro with this lens was giving so much fun that 90% of the time i'm out there is searching butter and dragonflies.

Through the year i answered a lot of questions by email with my thoughts about the lens.

It's a stunning tool to photograph with and i love it but it stays a tool. When you thinking of buying this lens remember it's only a tool. You had to do a lot of practice before getting good results. Shooting macro on 180mm ain't that easy and de dof is very shallow when you come close at the subject.

Thanks a lot everyone for visiting my stream, this beauty was posing nicely in a gorgeous setting with dew in early morning light.

These are the fixed mount lenses in the Kino Precision all-black series (serial numbers beginning 22). The exception is one "bright band" 135/3.5 telephoto (serial number beginning 40).

As the 135mm tests note, plain resolution numbers do not tell a complete story. Still we can see that at middle apertures these are respectable results, if not quite at the level of premium first-party lenses.

He have no chance to talk with the family member at all !!!

These are lenses for the Beseler Topcon Super D and D-1 (US market) / Topcon RE Super and RE-2 (rest of world).

These lens test results are really quite impressive. It's easy to forget that as of 1969 the Topcon system was really the one true competitor to Nikon's extensive accessory lineup. Canon was strong in lens choice but it would not be until 1970 that they would introduce the fully professional F-1 system.

This is a portion of a longer teleconverter article. It's of note because of Komura's advertising claims that their teleconverter optics were a cut above others on the market.

What we can see is that indeed the Komura is the only one with decent center sharpness when the 50mm f/2 Nikkor test lens is wide open. However all four tested brands look quite bad at the edges, save possibly for the Vivitar when stopped down by 4 stops. And the Soligor is definitely bringing up the rear.

It's not hard to see how this era's teleconverters got their generally dubious reputation.
