So I came across this little lucky charm in the garden by accident just looked right down & saw it. It is a four leaf clover! I took it as a sign..
I am going to a casino today (not joking.. I really am (not vegas though I wish).. just a local one run by the Mohegan Native Americans.
---------------------
"The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover. According to tradition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. According to legend, each leaflet represents something: the first is for hope, the second is for faith, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck."

When i get back from the trip I will try & write out more what I did to this one. But to keep it short, I brought it in from RAW. tweaked the exposure, contrast & vibrance, then did a curve adjustment layer, added texture, and painted with light. I also did a hue adjustment layer to get out some of that ucky brown in the background

I’m lucky to get this shot after many tries to get that Green flash. The Sun showing a green flash during sunset. This rare phenomenon happens when the Sun in sunset or sunrise. The thick atmosphere act as a prism refracting the sun light making the bottom of the sun Red and the top edge Blue. The blue colour is scattered and vanished in the sky. While the Green remains. All this phenomena happens in a second or two. To make the matter more difficult, it needs a clear atmosphere which is not available in my area.

Picture from a very old book of fairy stories from the BrothersGrimm. This one is called Lucky Hans.
Photos taken on May 24, 2009 of Grand Opening Weekend of a new Lucky Savon Supermarket, which is a former Lucky Savon Supermarket that in 1999, Albertsons took over and renamed store to Albertsons Savon. Both stores had a Savon Pharmacy inside the store. The decor has remained the same Lucky decor from the 1990s and now it has been updated for the 2000s (ha ha). This store includes a service meat counter, service deli and a service bakery.
This store is located in South Gate, California. On Tweety and Otis.
The Lucky Supermarket name was wiped out by Albertsons. They tried to get rid of it, forget about it, up until Grocery Warehouse got a hold of the name. A legal battle began and this is another story. Not even going to talk Northern California Albertsons, Save Mart and Lucky----another completely different story.
Needless to say, Albertsons (aka Supervalu) did not want to lose the Lucky name and a couple of years ago, the Lucky name returned to Southern California and Nevada. Albertsons re-converted several of their Albertsons stores to Lucky as well as a few of their Max Food Stores to Lucky. Southern California had only a few stores converted, and Las Vegas Nevada had the most that were converted over to the Lucky name.
Sadly in In February 2009, Albertsons decided to abandon the Lucky name again in Las Vegas.
I figured, okay, they are going away again, however, shortly thereafter Albertsons (aka Supervalu) announced that they were adding more Lucky Southern California stores. This store was picked to return to being a Lucky Supermarket.

Grass Snake (Natrix natrix). Woodwalton Fen National Nature Reserve, Cambridgeshire. Saturday 25th March 2017.
A photomosaic of three images, merged using Adobe Photoshop Elements 12. Can be viewed large (left click or press Z), but no bigger.
One of the more instantly recognisable grass snakes at WWF, this one has a nasty scar on its right flank just behind the collar (not immediately obvious from this angle though) and appears to be missing the tip of its tail. I've nicknamed it Lucky, as in 'Lucky to be alive'.
Lucky can normally be found basking close to Cyclops (see: www.flickr.com/photos/julianhodgson/32759851664/), but is usually tightly coiled amongst the vegetation. In this instance however, Cyclops was nowhere to be seen and Lucky had nicked his place, offering the opportunity for a reasonably unobstructed shot.
This is the Lucky supermarket at 777 E Monte Vista Ave, Vacaville, California. Is the address lucky enough for you? This store is about 40 minutes north of me and it was a former Albertsons. Actually, I think everyone is lucky that Albertsons is gone. In the last few years that Albertsons was still around, the prices got really high and customer service went downhill. Albertsons then did a really strange thing. They installed television screens at the checkout stands where they blasted customers with loud and obnoxious tv commercials. It was pure torture. Albertsons, LLC sort of went crazy from greed in the past few years.
When Save Mart took over, they got rid of the obnoxious in-your-face commercials. Thank goodness!!!
On a side note, Albertsons, LLC closed 4 Albertsons stores in my area around 2006. They even closed a store in downtown. They claimed that the location was not a profitable location for a supermarket. After Albertsons closed down, a Trader Joe's opened up, and it seems like it is the most busy market in the entire city. The parking lot is so packed that they had to implement valet parking. It wasn't the location that was bad. People just did not like going to Albertsons.
However, I still find Albertsons decor very interesting. Some of their stores featured interesting items such as a giant pretzel and a floor with a fake street drawn on it.
See the bottom of the page for photos. I don't know who owns the online journal.

I went to the park Sunday evening, hoping to find long-jawed orbweavers to take portraits of, but no luck - only spotted one of the kind with the jaws, and it was out too far from the boardwalk to reach. Dusk was upon me as I made my way back through the woods to my car, but I had a flashlight and was on the lookout for other spiders.
Right near the visitor center, I discovered this beauty hanging from some leaves. I tried to photograph her there, but she was moving around to much. So I invited her home with me.
She was moderately cooperative for a little while - long enough to get a good number of shots in - but finally started running, so I put her away. This morning I returned her back to the branch where I found her. I was thankful for the opportunity for this kind of shoot with this species of spider - usually I find them away in the woods when I have nothing to collect them in. You'll be seeing more of her, but may have to wait a year. ;-)
This is a manual focus stack made from four shots.

Imagine my surprise while walking around Tiffany's in NYC and there in the showcase I saw the quarry that has evaded my capture for all these years. I knew this one did not stand a chance as I made my way past customers ever so cautiously so as not to disturb the sales staff. Then, with a click of the shutter, I got my dragon!!!
So far I have to say this new year is working out pretty good. I also got to see the windows at Bergdorf Goodman so it just seemed like the thing to do to start off this year's Slider Sunday. This actually started with some repeated Dragons sitting on some Pussy Willow branches but then just kind of took off from there!
May every day in 2016 be your lucky day!!!!!!
Happy Slider Sunday!!
caught two hours ago on my way back home from a great day out in the sun.
btw: I was in the car on my way home, in anticipation of a picture took a side road to Horgen, got out of the car and just speculated for the next stroke - and luckily hit the shutter on time ... (it was 1/10s)
though anticipated the stroke 30m to the left - would have benefited the picture's composition ;-)
update: an for all the critical mindes out there: the pinkish aura around the lightning is no photoshoping ...

When the founders of the original Lucky’s Market chain acquired seven locations during that company's bankruptcy, two locations in Ohio were almost immediately re-sold to Dave’s Markets, who decided to keep the "Lucky’s Market" name on the acquired stores.
