Chasing these colorful boats in the tropical waters of the Andaman Sea is quite exhilarating… at West Railey Beach in Krabi, Thailand.

from a couple of weekends ago - - a male Longtailed Duck doing his thing in Lake Ontario at Colonel Sam Park.

 

Its been a pretty quiet winter - - I ran into 4 other photographers and they were feeling the same - - an odd winter with a lot less birds than the usual

Sehr interessant ist, dass die vielen geschlüpften Jungvögel nicht nur von ihren Eltern gefüttert werden, sondern auch von „Freunden“ und Verwandten der Familie, die selber keine Nachkommen haben.

Die Schwanzmeise ist mit den Meisen nicht enger verwandt, sie gehört zu den Grasmückenartigen.

It is very interesting that the many hatched young birds are not only fed by their parents, but also by "friends" and relatives of the family who have no offspring themselves.

The long-tailed tit is not more closely related to the tits, it belongs to the warblers.

Spicauda procne, the brown longtail, is a species of butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It is found from Argentina, north through Central America and Mexico to southern Texas. Rare strays can be found up to southern New Mexico, southern Arizona and southern California. The wingspan is 37–48 mm

The reason for returning to the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Last year I only got a passing glance of this iconic skipper species. This year, lucky enough to see it and to photograph it on the very first day!
