Large mural art made of garbage found in the sea, depicting a monk seal (monachus monachus). A monument not only to an acutely endangered species, but to human greed, carelessness and thoughtlessness.

A trip to Carmel, California meant a visit to Point Lobos, and an attempt at some Edward Weston-inspired photos of the famous state park.

A F-16 from the South Datota ANG touches down with a HH-60G Pave Hawk in the background.

Coming down the Upper Sutro Baths Trail, the waves of the Pacific roll onto a beach that is overlooked by Point Lobos.

 

This photo was taken by a Zenza Bronica S2 medium format film camera and ZENZANON 1:2.8 f=100mm lens with a Zenza Bronica 67mm SY48•2C(Y2) filter using Ilford HP5 Plus 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered using Photoshop.
