A huge Cypress bathes in the setting sun in Point Lobos State Preserve just south of Monterey, California.

"The greatest meeting of land and water in the world." That was famed landscape artist Francis McComas's bold but justified claim for Point Lobos.

I used a Lee 10-stop filter to extend the exposure to 4 minutes, a Lee Polarizer, and also a Lee Pink filter for the sky. Very minimal post-processing.

Os concellos organizaban batidas para evitar que estos animais atacaran o gando ata fai ben pouco, pero agora mesmo o lobo está protexido por lei ao atoparse en perigo de extinción.

A magical calm afternoon at Pt Lobos where low tide exposes the varied colors and textures of the shore. Too many clouds for a sunset, but still a special moment at a special place. To Ritchie on your birthday.
