Farewell old friend....
Tribute to Leonard Nimoy.
Subject of many a childhood fantasy, adolescent wonder and adult fascination...
You will be missed.
**update.... his last tweet several days before he died ...

"Live Long And Prosper"
This is my oldest minifigures (head swapped out) and it seemed appropriate as I was thinking about what Leonard meant to me and above all it was my childhood. Star Trek was always on BBC2 when the boring News was on, and when it wasn't there was always Mission:Impossible I loved his role on that too as Paris (magician and master of disguise).
"Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels his was the most..... human."
East Coast Comic Expo in Moncton, New Brunswick has come and gone for another year and it's time to snap some pics and throw them up here.
I'll start with this one because I built it back in 2010 and stuck it in a box with some WIPs because I was waiting on a BL order to add the silver antenna to the tip. The part came in, I threw it on, closed up the box again for some reason and promptly forgot about it until this year when I was going through some boxes to make room.
She's a little bulkier then the actual prop, but I still like her and probably won't bother to streamline her with new parts or techniques. I figured I'd take her to the con, because I want something Trek to offset the constant Star Wars presence the set up has.
Of course she comes apart so you can zap away with either the Type I or the Type II, depending what mood you're in.

Happy First Contact Day
I am glad to launch my LEGO minifigure scale Phoenix on this special day, again! 😊🚀
Initially I wanted to refit and relaunch the Phoenix last year. My goal was to proper replace the Light Bluish Gray Color with shiny Metallic Silver and while doing this, also to adjust proportions and details to closer match the reference. 😎
I really liked this particular concept on Star Trek First Contact - the transformation of a weapon of mass destruction into a vessel that will shape a peaceful and better future!
This message and idea is today more important than ever - LLAP
Special thanks to my good friend Marshal Banana for helping me out with the wonderful photo-edits (again)!

Photographers Log: Stardate 20120103 - 1956hrs - Spock and I had just beamed down to the surface of a new world we were checking out. We were investigating a densely populated urban area, and were trying to blend into the crowd. I was a bit nervous that we would be discovered among the alien inhabitants. We observed quite a strange array of what I would call freaks and or socially dislocated individuals, many with strange modifications to their body and clothing. Some apparently capable of extra sensory communication, evidenced by communication directed at no one in particular as they meandered down the bustling corridors. Luckily with Spock’s unusual freak like ears, we blended in and no one seemed to take notice of our alien invasion. For a moment the place reminded me much of Hollywood Blvd on Earth, on a typical Friday night.

I don't usually see Coots in the small creek here in the woods. Didn't notice this one until I was upon it...and then it did the classic running on water lift-off. Surprisingly it flew in front of me, rather than away. I got a series of shots...several of which would have been nice had they been in sharp focus. This one, though, was, and it isn't too bad.
We have Coots most of the year, but I've never seen any Coot younglings.

I made this piece to honor this legendary actor. Everything I saw him in, inspired me as he tried to inspire everybody else to keep adventuring and exploring. He will be greatly missed.
Like Diamonds In The Sky - abstract.
Remembering the great Leonard Nimoy (Mr Spock) with this abstract. He was a very talented actor, director, artist, poet and photographer.
What lies beyond our universe is one of the biggest mysteries of all!

One of the first shots with my new home made LLAP (Low Level Areal Photography) pole. It reaches 7,65m maximum.
The base is a 1,40x1,40x1,40 mast and the windspeed today was about 40km/h.

A windy day, The WB200 offers great Wifi features on the app, the downside is that in Wifi mode the camera only works on auto and the WB200 doesn't shoot RAW.
This is what I could make out of the JPEG using Lightroom only.

(People all over Instagram and Twitter are posting photos of themselves making the "Live and Prosper" sign and adding the tag #LLAP, I want to see if we can get this going around Flickr as well!)

Live Long & Prosper my friends.
Shot with my (home made) LLAP pole at about 6 meters high.
The apartments and commercial units are originally built in 1960 (started 1959) in the a part of 's-Hertogenbosch called "Boschveld" north-west of Central Station. In the early '80 the area "Boschveld" became a so called slump.
In 2000 they started to restructure the neighborhood and slowly you can see progress. I guess it be a reasonably nice place to start for young people considering the low prices compared to other apartments in 's-Hertogenbosch.
This shot I took for a real estate agent who will list (another) apartment this weekend.

Intended as a main photo to put on several websites. (In the Netherlands the most imporant website for houses is called Funda they have about 90% of the market)

A pretty similar image but shot RAW with a camera with APS_C sensor and a kitlens. Though the Sony APP isn't as user friendly as the Samsung, the results are better also cause the camera can be used in A or S mode and there is full control of the Iso.
This is the result by using Lightroom only.
