Common Gallinule (Moorhen) checking out its neighbor, a very large, fat and interested American Alligator, at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, Texas.

Our autumn leaf season got truncated by high winds and heavy rains knocking the colorful leaves off the trees, but I did manage a few shots showing off autumn colors.

I wish you all a brilliant weekend, my friends! Will be off to a conference! See you all on Monday!

Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

As you may have guessed from my previous post, my wife and I are just back from an amazing 10 day trip to Africa, Northern Tanzania to be precise, taking in the National Parks of Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Serengeti as well as the Ngorongoro Crater.

These Zebra seemed to sense something was not quite right.

This is a view of the Isle Of Rhum taken from a boat on a trip out from the Isle Of Skye. Imagine living on a croft here.

I had the pleasure to model at the opening of Viktor Savior de Grataine's art expo.

Each model were asked to pick from sets of two picture, and create an outfit inspired based on it. These were mine and my outfit.

The exhibition runs for the rest of the year and can be seen at Dragon Sanctuary Artgallery

(if you are on land point near the castle, choose Teleport -> Exhibition)

LIVING THE DREAM

IN MY OWN WORLD...

How many story lines how many years

Of hide and seek

How many tears

Before the living truth appears

In a form you can't ignore

And when she comes for you, you realize

she's courted you through other eyes

But somehow it took this disguise

To bring you to the door

Where she's standing

With an outstretched hand, motioning

And you don't understand

But you take her lead

For you have no need but this love

She'll still your mind

But steal your rest

By lighting fires in your chest

And like an overbearing guest

She won't leave you alone

If you go with her

You won't be back

And she won't leave you time

to think or pack

You'll be naked, but you won't lack

And love will be your home

And she's standing

With an outstretched hand, motioning

And you may not understand

But you take her lead

For you have no need but this love

How many story lines

how many years

Of hide and seek

How many tears

Before the living truth appears

And comes to take you home.

buildings are great to see, maybe nice and easy to work in, but what about living in it ?

omis, croatia. all the lights are glowing in this pulsating town.

This photo gave me neck pain while taking pictures. But It was worth it for me. This is also such a new residential building here on the Spree. Actually, I think it's nice and let's see what new buildings will be added in the next few months.

Now that we're all squeezed into a one bedroom cottage, I feel like we're living Yurok style.

The Yurok tribe has occupied areas of Humboldt county for thousands of years. Today their land has been reduced to a 56,000 acre reservation that contains a Casino and a scattered number of homesteads. The tribe has been horribly treated by the U.S. Government and private timber corporations who have dispossessed them of much of their land and resources--not to mention their traditional hunter-gatherer way of life.

Homes like the one above can be found at various locations throughout Humboldt County. It's definitely move-in ready.

This unreal scene on Mallorca happened during a warm wind from the south, called "Scirocco". Small particels from the Sahara-Desert tinted the skies grey and yellow.

Captured on the beaches of "Faro Ses Salines".

This suburb was empty 10 years ago, after a while people got interested and now it's popular. The houses have not the bright colors anymore they had in those days and will never get it again.

When I posted my Monday photo from the weekend's Chinese New Year Celebrations on Chicago's North side in Argyle, there were a couple of you who seemed disappointed to see it in black and white vs. color. It was a beautiful sunny day ( a little cold but still quite nice for February ) and so I actually did get a few shots where I thought the colors came out really rich and bright. I do think sometimes, though, that black and white is a way of making things seem a little more timeless and gaining a different perspective on experience. It also gives more credit to the humans viewing it that they can fill in some details or colors if they want with their imaginations. I kind of think we all live life with a mix of black and white and color and we are constantly trying to find a common ground between these two. If we live in color, do we experience the moments with more bliss and a sense of joyful ephemera? If we live in monohrome, do we already realize the moment we are experiencing will have passed quickly?
