Ken is a German Pointer who lives the life of Riley at Bonsi a lovely estate in Tuscany. His owner is one of the sons of a great friend of my sister-in-law's.

The German Shorthaired Pointer is a breed of medium-sized pointing dog developed in nineteenth century Germany. It is energetic and powerful, with strong legs and great endurance. It is a versatile all-purpose gun dog suitable for hunting and retrieving on both land and water, with a strong drive to find and chase game. It may also be kept as a companion dog, though as a high-energy sporting dog, it requires significant amounts of exercise.

German Shorthaired Pointers have a short coat that comes in various combinations, generally a mix of liver and white. They have moderately long floppy ears set high on the head. Longer, broad, and strong, muzzles allow retrieval of heavier game. The dog's profile should be straight or strongly Roman nosed; any dished appearance to the profile is incorrect according to breed standards. Their eyes are generally brown, with darker ones being desirable; yellow or "bird of prey" eyes are a fault. The tail is commonly docked, although that is now prohibited in some countries. In competition, they are penalized if the tail is curved either up or down while the dog is moving. When the GSP is in classic point stance, the tail should be held straight out from the body, forming a line with the pointing head and body. Like all German pointers, GSPs have webbed feet, and are known for going after waterfowl in the water.

The German Shorthaired Pointer is a member of the Sporting Group] In 2016, CJ, a three-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, won the Best in Show award at the 140th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

The Tenuta i Bonsi, set in the magical landscape of the Tuscan hills of Reggello a few kilometers from Florence, for more than a century has been devoted to producing high quality olive oil and wine and the reception of guests who want to discover the rustic charm and elegance of this beautiful Tuscan farmhouse cum Castle.

The history of the village is full of interest, and has its roots in the 15th century. The historic home is also of great interest, beginning as a defensive Castle of a leading Florentine family and later became the "600 Balmaceda" a convent of Carmelite friars. Its current appearance is the work of the Florentine painter Raffaello Sorbi.

Today, the estate is owned and managed by the family Budini Gattai, who create products of high quality: ORGANIC extra virgin olive oil and red wine IGT.

Tenuta i Bonsi unites tradition with modernity, with particular attention to respect for the environment and renewable energy: thanks to the skilful use of scraps from the olive pit, heat can be provided by great alternative fuel pellets which can be purchased at the Guest House.

A scene from just outside of Shahjahanpur station in Uttar Pradesh catches the realities of daily life for many folk in India's rural communities. The households will likely own a few cattle, and maybe the odd goat - the grazing will be mediocre at best but between them they manage to provide milk for the family ..... and dung. The latter is typically made into 'cakes' by the women and left to dry in the sun where it will eventually be used as a fuel for cooking or keeping folk warm.

This community was situated between the metre-gauge line to Pilibhit and the electrified broad-gauge line just out of shot on my left, so possibly a railway workers' one.

Completing the picture is the departing 11.15am service to Pilibhit Junction (train 52232), apparently leaving a few minutes early. North Eastern Railways' liveried Alco YDM4 unit 6681 is doing the honours.

And then one day I’ll cross the river,

I’ll fight life’s final war with pain.

And then as death gives way to victory,

I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.

Because He lives, All fear is gone!

Because I know He holds the future

And life is worth the living just because He lives!

Violaceous Euphonia lives up to its name in beauty and sound, possessing both colorful plumage and melodious song. It is a widely distributed resident across northeastern and eastern South America, from Venezuela and Trinidad south to Paraguay, northeastern Argentina, and southeastern Brazil. They occupy humid forest and forest edges, as well as parks and gardens, cocoa plantations, and citrus fruit orchards. Males have striking glossy violet to bluish black upperparts and deep golden yellow underparts and forehead, while females and juveniles are duller, mostly olivaceous above and olive yellow below. Violaceous Euphonias primarily are frugivorous, foraging alone or in small groups (including mixed flocks), but also eat nectar and insects when seasonally available. Picture taken at Sitio Espinheiro Negro.

Tried an old school (new for me) approach today on this piece. I threw a giant tag first, then added thickness to the lines. Good times, peace Komik.

This interesting little home reminded me that it could be the residence of Ebenezer Scrooge. Seen in Carver, MA Edeville Railroad village

Priscilla showed up in our backyard thirteen years ago. She gave birth to six kittens in our garage. She was a wonderful mom. We helped care for and found homes for all her kittens. And we got her spayed. However we had several cats and could not take her in. She continued to live in our yard. We did give her food and a small shelter. She was a tough little cat who lived through many very cold winters. In 2020 after we had lost our indoor cats we took her in. She got to at least live the last few years of her life in a warm safe house. Rest in peace my little feral angel, I will miss you <3

Ordinarily I'd clone out those power lines in a heartbeat, but studying this composition, I realised they were essential to a story. If trees could think, both in life and in death, would each 'tree' seen here be envious of each other? One, grown strong and mighty, cut to have use carrying electricity, but denied it's old age; the other, wild and free, yet cruelly misshaped by weather and environment, with no future. other than an ignominious death? (I can hear someone out there saying, "Shut up, Fergal...it's just an ugly tree and a power pole. Get a life.") Seen at Aghinish, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

Discovered the sad passing of a regular neighborhood visitor. This was a portrait taken in 2018 of our feline friend.

HOI AN.- THU BON RIver

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hoi An would not be the same without its mighty Thu Bon River.

Certainly, it is a relationship of love and hate, since everything that he gives (and has given) to the city, he is capable of taking away in one breath during the intense rainy seasons.

The Thu Bon River

Crossing the city we find the Thu Bon River, which has shaped and marked the lives of the inhabitants of Hoi An for centuries.

Nowadays, walking along its banks or having a coffee at the foot of its waters is one of the activities that you cannot miss.

Hoi An Full Moon Lantern Festival

Although Hoi An looks postcard-perfect every night, the Ancient City is most spectacular during the monthly Lantern Festival, when locals release illuminated paper lanterns into the river to promote good health and fortune. It is a must-see and worth modifying in your Vietnam itinerary.

One of the most popular ways to experience the Thu Bon River in Hoi An is on a 1-2 hour boat ride. Embark on a bamboo boat with a fisherman to learn local fishing techniques or opt for a short cruise on a modern boat to Cua Dai Beach. If you are a thrill seeker, spinning like crazy in a basket boat is a must-try experience.

bonus Track: A Tribe Called Quest - God Lives Through

Ynot had rocked the sketch for this piece in Quakes book last year before his passing. I wasn't able to get a head on flick without getting a shine of the sun on the glossy paint. I also used 2 different blacks for the outline, flat and glossy, so that wasn't helping either. We added some new tshirts to www.ynotlives.com please check them out and support. Peace.

Cattails sway about madly as extreme winds blow in behind a late autumn cold front. I love experiencing rapid weather changes brought on by storms. There's a feeling of disarray, both in the landscape and sky, as air masses collide. Vast amounts of energy are released in the process, an abundant source of creative motivation just waiting to be tapped.

Out in this open meadow, the gusty wind was whipping everything around me into a continuous blur. Very difficult to focus the eye on any one thing when everything is in motion. Photography truly becomes more of a shoot by feel process rather than one of looking through viewfinder. As is often the case, I'm responding more to how the scene makes me feel rather than how it actually looks.

The cattails delineate an impassable boundary for me. Stems from an irrational fear of snakes. Even as a child, I equated cattails with marshes and wetlands and a high probability of harboring snakes. Even with snakes in hibernation in this freezing cold air, the tangle of overgrowth and the certainty of sinking into mud in the still soft earth was more than enough to deter me. Still I lingered on the verge; the scene almost comically bleak, the sky a dark shade or murder gray.

Taking at Elysion, Cosmic Cafe

Its interesting that 2 very cool midwestern grain haulers move big tonnage on rails left behind by those of the Wabash. One that I've rarely seen in recent years is Illinois fave The Bloomer Line, run by Alliance Grain Company. Here they assemble cars at Strawn, IL after coming east from elevators west of Risk, IL. Old pole lines and a few random block signals still litter this old route of the Cannonball.

Spring has come now that the crepe myrtle has shown that it survived the winter sub zero weather.

Cabooses were eliminated in the 1980s, but many can still be found being used as shoving platforms for conductors as seen here. A former Conrail bay window brings up the rear of local B791, as it yards its train at CP-369 in Rochester.

We live extremely fast. We are rushing our schedule, postoponing on our food and pleasures. It is necessary to slow down for a while and look up for perseids this time. Only sad thing is that we are so afraid of darkness taht we have light even in the middle of the mountains. But still it is so peaceful to have a rest for a while. I hope you are having good time my friends!

Some lives are rocky,

others are a rock

Some churn as oceans,

others walk the talk

Some fear emptiness,

others decay intone

Some seek the light,

others make their own

Some light candles,

others blowout clouds

Some whimper as ember

others combust aloud

Some are cold, heartless,

others maniacally moan

Some encumber sunshine,

others make their own.

A most curious hole about 3 inches at the bottom of an old harbour building.

Despite its resemblance to bumblebees, it is a syrphid belonging to the family Syrphidae, therefore a fly. As identification elements, we note mainly short antennae (they are much longer in the bumblebee); the ribs of the wings show a clearly visible loop, characteristic of the Syrphidae family, a loop called R4 + 5. Mimicry with the bumblebee is a defense.

The adult only lives for a few weeks to lay eggs on narcissus leaves; upon hatching the larvae will settle in the bulb and remain there until the following spring.

I wonder?

I've passed this tree many times without noticing this until today. A deserted world brings new things to my attention. On the University of California campus. Classes are being taught online for the rest of the semester, and most students have left town and the dorms.
