This Little Lonely Rose
With all its desperate Woes
Enjoys the warming Autumn Sun
Obviously with so much Fun
However it is a bit of a Shame
That this lovely Rose is locked in a Frame
But with all the Leaves still visible
Which was not negotiable
This Rose feels lonely in its Frame
As Freedom is the vital Flame
Which burns inside all Souls
And far beyond their mere Controls

♂︎ Little Bittern / Zwergdommel (Ixobrychus minutus)
This is my first Little Bittern sighting since this time in 2016 and I was thrilled to be closer this time around. Extremely skittish birds which are difficult to see and whilst bold in stature, are no larger than a Coot.
Little Blue Heron (Egretta caerulea) - Circle B Bar Reserve, Florida
A Little Blue lands on a pleasing perch at Circle B.
I will be absent from Flickr the remainder of the weekend. My son is turning 4 and we have lots of festivities planned.
Have a great weekend everyone!
One from my archives. Little Blue Penguins at Mount Maunganui beach when they were released after the Rena oil spill.
I'm now on 500px.
Little Petra , al-batrā aṣ-ṣaġïra), also known as Siq al-Barid (Arabic: literally "the cold canyon") is an archaeological site located north of Petra and the town of Wadi Musa in the Ma'an Governorate of Jordan. Like Petra, it is a Nabataean site, with buildings carved into the walls of the sandstone canyons. As its name suggests, it is much smaller, consisting of three wider open areas connected by a 450-metre (1,480 ft) canyon. It is part of the Petra Archeological Park, though accessed separately, and included in Petra's inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Like Petra, it was probably built during the height of Nabataean influence during the 1st century C.E. While the purpose of some of the buildings is not clear, archaeologists believe that the whole complex was a suburb of Petra, the Nabatean capital, meant to house visiting traders on the Silk Road. After the decline of the Nabataeans, it fell vacant, used only by Bedouin nomads, for centuries. From Wikipedia, the free.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR VISITS, COMMENTS AND FAVES
THEY ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
As the title says, these are Australian little blue periwinkles. And by little, I mean only a couple of millimetres in length.
They live in intertidal rock pools and generally live in clusters of thousands.
Not sure why these two were off by themselves, but I suspect they suffer from the same condition that I do - Destinesia. That's where you end where you wanted to be, but forgot why you wanted to be there ;)
Hapy new week !
One of the two Little Bunting that have over-wintered in Surrey. They should be somewhere in Asia rather than here in the UK.
This little guy was singing his heart out on his little perch looking very pleased with himself !! In particularly harsh winters, Wren populations can deplete significantly by up to as much as 25%. Despite this startling statistic, this is often countered by the large broods created throughout the breeding season. I hope this little guy is one of the lucky ones their fantastic little birds and only weigh as much as a 2p coin .
