V2-LIK, an ATR42-600, taxiing to the tarmac at George F.L. Charles Airport (formerly Vigie Airport) at Castries, Saint Lucia.
It had just arrived as LIA756 (LIAT (1974) Ltd.) from Argyle, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Justo a pies de esta sierra se encuentra el Estanh Long de Liat, un lago glaciar de gran tamaño del que se puede ver ligeramente su orilla sur si se amplía la foto.
La estructura metálica de la derecha y la que se asoma por la izquierda son dos torres que formaban parte del teleférico que transportaba el mineral al lavadero situado en Pontaut, en la entrada de la Val de Toran.

I don’t have much to say here except this little girl keeps me going. While the colors of Autumn are lovely it can’t compete with my beautiful daughter. 💛 Taking pictures of the wonderful outdoors is one of my favorite most enjoyable activities. But when my daughter poses herself for me of her own will I drop everything to catch that photograph :)
We don’t typically do anything for Valentines Day so I was pleasantly surprised when my husband brought me and my two daughters roses for the occasion 🌹 of course it was a reason to get my camera out ☺️ What a crazy few days it’s been here in Texas. As a transplant from Colorado I am used to cold weather and negative temperatures... however I never thought it would be happening here. As a state we are so unprepared for this type of weather. (And I certainly don’t blame Texas, who could have predicted?!) many people without electricity or any way to keep warm. It’s the beginning of another strange year lol. I am definitely learning I need to be more prepared for the unexpected! Hope you all are keeping safe and warm ❤️

I went on an epic magical adventure with Liat and Kendra. An unplanned journey into the magical forest of British Columbia. A strange, unexpected Flickr meet-up, but perfect day.
I met Kendra traditionally through a moon ceremony last year. We both have grown a lot in the year in different ways. I've followed Liat work on Flickr over the last two-three years. Our photography has become over the last few years in various ways. Two different types of relationships. One based in reality the other from the virtual world. On this day those realities merged together.
Everything which had to take place over the last two-three years contributed to the creation of this epic adventure with these amazing individuals. I find it an amazing when a group of people can associate, connect, learn and create with each other on many different levels.
When I saw Kendra ears glowing from the light source, I knew this image was unique to me. We spent the majority of our adventure at Golden Ears Provincial Park. Logically it makes sense I take a picture of Kendra with "golden ears." Maybe I gained the perspective to understand why someone named the park Golden Ears.

Standing above the former Liat mining site, I was struck by nature's remarkable ability to heal and transform. This stunning alpine lake now occupies the heart of what was once an intensive industrial operation, abandoned since 1929. The contrast between the serene turquoise waters and the scattered mining ruins tells a powerful story of renewal and resilience.
My intention was to capture this extraordinary transformation - how the Pyrenees have gradually reclaimed this scarred landscape, turning it into something unexpectedly beautiful. The persistent snow patches and emerging green vegetation speak to the harsh yet nurturing alpine environment that has slowly erased the wounds of human extraction.
This image represents my fascination with the intersection of industrial history and natural recovery. While exploring the underground galleries revealed the intensity of past mining operations, this overview shows the ultimate triumph of time and nature. Sometimes the most profound beauty emerges from the most unlikely places, reminding us that landscapes have their own capacity for redemption and renewal.

Venturing deeper into the Liat mines, I found myself walking along the very rails that once carried the hopes and labors of Pyrenean miners nearly a century ago. This tunnel, with its explosion of mineral colors painting the walls in nature's own palette, felt like stepping into a living museum of industrial heritage.
My intention was to capture the raw beauty that time and mineral deposits have created in these abandoned depths. The rails stretching into the blue-lit distance tell the story of human determination - generations of workers who carved these passages through solid rock, following veins of iron, lead, and zinc deep into the mountain's heart.
This image represents the intersection of industrial history and natural artistry. While the miners of 1929 saw these tunnels as conduits of commerce, nearly a hundred years later they have become galleries of geological wonder. The rust, minerals, and time have collaborated to create something unexpectedly beautiful from what was once purely functional. Sometimes the most profound beauty emerges from the marriage of human endeavor and nature's patient transformation.
