After a day of non stop rain and wind I had to do something to put a bit of colour back into my life. Rain drops on the window LED light and gel and a deserted yacht harbour. Voila, Feeling much better.

It started with just a few rain drops glistening in the early morning sunlight... then this ended up as a paroxysm of light.

I bet that you did not know that the official name for Smithfield Market is Smithfield Plaza.
The Christmas tree at Smithfield [ designed by Blachere the company which created the lighting for the Eiffel Tower] was originally installed on O’Connell Street before being moved to Smithfield. I was disappointed that it was relocated.
According to the city council, it paid €36,809 last December to private firm 2B Light Company in relation to this tree, including €26,961 for the installation and removal of the 18 metre, five-ton, eco-friendly tree illuminated by 100,000 bulbs. In addition, the firm was paid €5,500 for the storage of the tree while the total includes a 13.5 per cent VAT component of €4,378.
The Mayor of Dublin recently stated that the city council’s spending on natural trees “is justified because of the Christmas cheer the trees bring and the community spirit they create, but I would have concerns over the ongoing costs associated with the Led Christmas tree at Smithfield.”
Personally I like the tree and I do hope that they continue to use it every Christmas going forward. I would be even happier if it was returned to O’Connell Street now that the tram construction works will have been completed by Christmas 2017.
Somedays you just have no inspiration, and when that happens you find yourself in a field, on your own, in the dark, at 11:45, stressing out, wondering why the hell you started this project in the first place, 'n wondering if this is going to work or not.. or if a farmer is going to just shoot you...

LED bike light - 0.5 sec exposure, handheld motion in a very dark room :)
ISO100 - 0,5 sec - f/5.6 - 72mm.
Another themed evening on the seven deadly sins.
For this shot I decided to screw an old wide angle adapter to my lens and see what happened. The scene was lit with LED panels.
Model: Becca.
Not like the leadlight of olde.
It switches on/off by a proximity sensor near the lower end of the LED line. Those clever Italians.
Team 7DOS - sorry I have been MIA most of the week as I have been paining my home, so too busy during the day and too sleepy during the evening.
This was a 10-second exposure. of purplish fairly lights (50 very small LED lights on a wire).
I activated the shutter, waited 2-seconds, slowly zoomed in for 2-seconds, waited 2-seconds, slowly zoomed in for 2-seconds, and waited 2-seconds. I wasn't sure what was the results were going to be but you can faintly see the pumpkin outline and colors multiple times – almost like a ghost image – with a zooming light-trail and three spikes in the LED intensity where I rested (I think this is referred to as a "maxima," if I remember my Physics class correctly).
Part of the 'Illuminate the River Project'.
Located on the River Thames between London Bridge and Southwark Bridge. This iron bridge carries trains on the Southeastern line over the Thames to Cannon St Station.
The Grade ll listed twin brick towers are all that remain from the original station and can only be seen from the river side.
Up to 15 bridges will eventually become part of the Illuminated River Project, the worlds largest public art comission. To date, the first phase of 4 bridges have been officially 'turned on' They are London Bridge, Cannon Street Bridge, Southwark Bridge and the Milennium Bridge. Their municipal lighting has been replaced with dynamic LED displays created by the American artist Leo Villareal.
2020 will see a futher five bridges lit up, followed by the remaining six to create the Illuminated River Project
Today something a little different. I grabbed a string of small LED lights and Tracy and I played with them in front of the TV until we arrived on something we liked.
Then I threw it in Capture One for a crop and a quick grade to accentuate the contrast between the cold light from the TV and the warm LEDs around and behind Tracy. I also did a few selective adjustments and added some grain 'cause I figured it fit the low key feel of the image.
So happy for my beautiful wife’s support in this 365 project.

Walking down Frazer Town, saw these lights just hanging from the electricity like, light bunches of bioluminiscent berries waiting to be plucked.
Light Painting in Cassiobury Park, Watford in March 2023. It is always great to see many people come to my workshops to paint with light.
Cassiobury Park is very dark at night with low light pollution where you can get a two minute exposure. Especially good with the river and its reflections.

This electrifying nighttime image captures the eye-popping entrance to a Japanese nightclub or entertainment venue, most likely located in the neon-splashed streets of Kabukichō, Shinjuku, or a similar nightlife district. The entrance is nothing short of visual overload—a kaleidoscope of LED lights, mirrored walls, golden textures, and cyberpunk flair, blending elements of retro-futurism and fantasy.
Flanked by two towering chrome statues of futuristic knights, the golden backdrop of the doorway is lined with intricate, embossed patterns that give the entire facade a bold, almost surreal vibe. Above the doorway, glowing red signage and scrolling LEDs add to the sensory feast, inviting curious passersby to step into a world of glamour, mystery, and high-octane nightlife.
Inside the entrance, the mirrored corridor is bathed in purple and blue neon, suggesting a labyrinth of light and sound beyond. From the multilingual signage and pricing details posted along the side, it’s likely this is a host or hostess club, a common fixture in Japanese nightlife where customers pay for conversation, attention, and entertainment from charismatic staff.
To the left, a food ad for Wagyu burgers adds a quirky contrast, while an unassuming side door to the right reminds us that nightlife culture often exists in tight, hidden corners just off busy sidewalks.
This image is a visual deep dive into the heart of Japan’s entertainment architecture, where flashy aesthetics, tight urban planning, and cultural nuance intersect. Whether you’re drawn by the design, the intrigue, or the story waiting behind the LED curtain, this glowing gateway is a testament to Tokyo’s famous nocturnal charisma.

LaCie FireWire Speakers
LaCie FireWire Speakers take advantage of FireWire 400's inherent superiority as an audio connection. Conventional speakers attached to a headphone jack must contend with noise distortion from the circuitry within the computer. USB speakers vie for limited bandwidth and power, having to share the bus with the keyboard, mouse and other peripherals. And while other portable speaker manufacturers increase treble or bass to simulate better sound, LaCie FireWire Speakers rely on 8-watt minimum audio output for true sound fidelity. Sound can be tuned to individual preference within iTunes®, Winamp or whatever the user’s chosen audio/video application.
