Leaving starts just one more of life's journeys. Sometimes the roads are straight--sometimes not so much. Be careful out there.

Chicago Terminal Railroad heads northbound off Goose Island after spotting storage cars at the far south end of the line. Everything to the left of the locomotive used to be Milwaukee Road's Division Street yard years ago. With no rail customers left on Goose Island, the days are most likely numbered for scenes like this.

Sometimes leaving is hard, but staying is almost impossible.

Newark Airport, New Jersey

We drove up on the mountain side to get a look of the Racetrack Playa after leaving it. This playa is located in a very remote location of the Death Valley in California. To reach it, you drive almost two hours on a terrible dirt road. It's worth while though with the moving rocks on the playa.

I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic and a HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

sailing home under auspicious skies, it is always such a 'miraculous' thrill to spot a rainbow.

We had a good holiday and were now looking forward to our 'normal' life again.

From Dunkirk in France to Dover in England is a nice trip.

I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)

Mit einem stilechten Umbauwagenzug nach Coburg verlässt die Vorkriegslok 144 088 die Kreisstadt Lichtenfels in Oberfranken.

The assignment that I am working on is narrative. Please let me know what you think. I have looked at it for so long now that my brain is totally frazzled and I feel totally incapable of coherent thoughts.

This is the same black kite I have posted a few days ago, but, here, he was being harassed by an azure-winged magpie. In fact, there were two of them harrasing the poor guy, and he was obviously bothered with that.

After spending a good part of the day unloading up the Black River the Herbert C Jackson's captain opted to back all the way out into Lake Erie rather than use the turning basin. Consequently I ended up with a stern-first chase into the good light while playing peek-a-boo with an advancing cloud bank. One of the last real "sucker holes" did correspond with them going past the Lorain Harbor Light though which allowed for this broadside of them nearing the end of their backwards journey before spinning the boat in open water.
