This garage has received the newer Gulf livery since I was last here in 2021. Otherwise largely unchanged, still a Peugeot dealership. Back a bit further in time and it was a Total site.

L'abbaye de Cuxa (prononcé coucha )tire son origine du monastère de Saint-André d'Eixalada, situé plus haut dans la vallée de la Têt, et fondé vers 840.À l'automne 878, une crue soudaine de la Têt, consécutive à des pluies diluviennes, emporte dans ses eaux le monastère (situé tout près du lit de la rivière, à l'emplacement de sources thermales déjà connues dans l'Antiquité). Les 35 moines survivants se réfugient à Cuxa, où se trouve une église dédiée à saint Germain, propriété du clerc Protase (Protasius) qui s'est, avec quelques compagnons, agrégé à la communauté de Saint-André en 854. Un document daté du29 juin 879 règle la situation juridique des moines de Saint-Germain : ils se constituent en une communauté monastique et Protase en devient le premier abbé.Le nouveau monastère continue de bénéficier de la protection et des libéralités des comtes de Cerdagne-Conflent, issus deGuifred Ier le Velu (Wifredus), comte de Barcelone en 870, qui agrandissent considérablement son patrimoine foncier. Le monastère obtient de la papauté et de la royauté des privilèges répétés d'immunité, qui le font relever de la seule autorité du pape ou du roi. Sunifred II de Cerdagne confie le monastère de Cuxà peu avant 965 à l'abbé Garin (Warinus) ; celui-ci y introduit une réforme dans l'esprit de Cluny et rompt les derniers liens avec la monarchie carolingienne. Garin est déjà à la tête de cinq monastères du sud de la France et il entretient avec l'extérieur des rapports étendus.Il existe une petite chapelle à Cuxa, mentionnée pour la première fois en 938, faite de pierres et d'argile. Sunifred fait bâtir une église en chaux, en pierre taillée et en bois, à partir de 956 ; il y est inhumé à sa mort en 967. Elle est consacrée le28 septembre 974, veille de la Saint-Michel, pour qui la maison comtale a une dévotion particulière. Cette église existe encore aujourd'hui, c'est l'une des plus importantes de l'architecture préromane.De retour d'un pèlerinage à Rome et à Venise, Garin convainc le doge Pietro Orseolo de le suivre à Cuxa. Dans la nuit du 1er septembre 978, le doge s'enfuit de Venise, abandonnant pouvoir, femme et enfants, emportant une bonne partie de ses trésors et accompagné entre autres de deux ermites, Marin et Romuald. La présence de ces hôtes illustres attire à Cuxa une foule de pèlerins. Le vieux doge meurt au monastère en odeur de sainteté, à une date inconnue (peut-être le10 janvier 988). Peu après, ses compagnons retournent en Italie ; Romuald y fonde l'ordre des camaldules. Le comte Oliba Cabreta, frère et successeur de Sunifred II, se retire au monastère bénédictin du Mont-Cassin, où il meurt en 990. En 991, l'abbé Garin part en pèlerinage aux lieux saints, d'où il revient en 993. Il meurt peu avant l'an 1000.Renonçant au pouvoir temporel, Oliba de Besalù, abbé et évêque, fils du comte Oliba Cabreta, choisit la vie monastique ; élu abbé de Ripoll et abbé de Cuxa en 1008, nommé évêque de Vic en 1017, il s'efforce de consolider et d'agrandir le patrimoine déjà riche du monastère. Moins voyageur que Garin, Oliba est surtout un grand bâtisseur. Il va profondément transformer le monastère en construisant au-devant de l'église les deux chapelles superposées de la Crèche (Pessebre) et de la Trinité, qui communiquent avec Saint-Michel par des galeries. Il augmente aussi le sanctuaire de trois absides, voûte les bas-côtés de la nef, construit les clochers. C'est un homme de grand prestige, qui se rend au moins deux fois à Rome. Il meurt à Cuxa, où il est inhumé, le 30 octobre 1046.Par une charte datée du 30 avril 1091, Guillaume-Raymond, comte de Cerdagne, donne l'abbaye de Cuxa en propriété à l'abbaye Saint-Victor de Marseille et à son abbé Richard1. On pense que le nouvel abbé de Cuxa (de 1091 à 1102), Pierre Guillaume, est chargé de réformer le monastère dont le relâchement dans l'observance de la règle de saint Benoît a affaibli le prestige.Au début du xiie siècle, on construit le cloître en lui donnant la forme d'une colonnade de marbre, avec des chapiteaux sculptés. On édifie aussi une tribune en marbre dans l'église. Ces travaux sont en partie l'œuvre de Grégoire, abbé de Saint-Michel de 1130 à 1143, puis archevêque de Tarragone jusqu'à sa mort en 1146.Les périodes suivantes du Moyen Âge sont moins fastes pour Cuxa. Les bâtiments de l'abbaye ne sont pas restaurés. La richesse du monastère est cependant évidente, avec un domaine foncier très important, et la juridiction quasi épiscopale sur une quinzaine de paroisses réparties entre les diocèses d'Elne et d'Urgell.
Le cloître[modifier le wikicode]
Construit dans la décennie 1130-1140, le cloître, roman, est l'un des plus grands des Pyrénées. Il est séparé en deux parties, une remontée in situ et l'autre à New York. Les galeries sud et est sont couvertes d'une charpente de bois, la galerie sud-est la seule à avoir été complètement reconstituée, les autres ne l'ont été qu'en partie. Si les chapiteaux et les colonnes sont authentiques, les linteaux et les arcs ont été taillés au fur et à mesure des dernières restaurations. Les chapiteaux en marbre rose du Conflent sont essentiellement décorés de thèmes profanes (feuillages, animaux), parfois aux inspirations orientales, et il serait vain d'y chercher le moindre motif religieux. Il ne faut pas non plus donner à cette décoration une quelconque interprétation symbolique. Les sculpteurs semblent n'avoir pris en compte que l'aspect purement décoratif des figures représentées; ils se sont sans doute inspirés des manuscrits vus dans la bibliothèque de l'abbaye, l'une des plus riches des Xe et XIe siècles. L'un des chapiteaux par exemple représente Gilgamesh, issu de la mythologie sumérienne. On observe tout de même un Christ bénissant et un Christ entouré d'anges, avec saint Pierre à ses pieds. Le cloître était agrémenté d'une fontaine qui fournissait aux moines fraîcheur et eau courante; elle est aujourd'hui exposée, salle 204, au Museum of Art de Philadelphie.
On a pu regrouper sur place les arcades et chapiteaux qui se trouvaient à Prades ou chez différents particuliers. Les arcades de la galerie occidentale et l'amorce de la galerie orientale ont été remontées, reconstituant près de la moitié du cloître. D'autres éléments seront remis en place au fur et à mesure de leur récupération.

My dear friends,
I often have that problem, when I lack space on my display shelves for any large sized furniture (my display space is usually pretty limited). But I still wanted to display some of my ladies lounging around, or sitting beautifully, to create some variety in posing. Actually, my own dolls usually only sit on the furniture just for a day, or two, before the completed piece goes to it`s new owner The rest of time they end up sitting on some jewelry boxes and perfume packages ))))))).
So this idea came to me, of a furniture both as beautiful and elegant, as some large sized pieces I make, but also compact and sleek enough to fit easily into the most modest display spaces. Here comes my small collection of iridescent ottomans, accented with a fringe and Swarovski crystals. This design looks delicate, yet opulent and refined enough to compliment the most capricious dolly beauties. The seat measurements are only 4 by 7 inches. Each ottoman comes with a matching fringed pillow.
This will be a LE of 10. Each one is unique in color combinations. The first 5 are ready and for sale. The next 5 will be available some time later.
This LE is somewhat of an experiment. I wanted to do some furniture for the first come first served sale, for those people, who were so far unable to get on my commission list, because I have so depressingly little time, and the furniture making requires so much of it.
The price is $140 per ottoman + shipping.

I’m pleased to provide details about Montblanc’s breathtaking new collection. It is part of our Heritage line and pays tribute to mysterious and rich Egyptian history. EGYPTOMANIA. We are starting to receive the special edition pieces that will be more readily available in store but wanted to share with you some pictures of the High Artistry pieces for your consideration and enjoyment.

In the Special Edition, the hexagonal shape has ‘Montblanc’ engraved with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. The scarab on the clip is known in Egyptian mythology to promise a better afterlife. The Doue has the scripts from the “Book of Dead” engraved on cap and barrel. The ballpoint pens are very unusual, because they have a press/click mechanism instead of our traditional twist.
It is offered in Resin with bronze and Doue variations. The Fountain pen nib is part of the Heritage Collection and is therefore more soft/flexible than the Meisterstück.
Turning writing instruments into works of art, the new Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania - A Revival of Ancient Egyptian Treasures brings to life the glory of Ancient Egypt. It has been almost a century since the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, but the spell of fascination that it cast over the world still lingers today.
Nothing illustrates that better than Montblanc’s new collection of writing instruments. Dubbed the “Montblanc High Artistry Heritage Egyptomania”, the range features five limited-edition fountain pens, each meticulously crafted to bring the magnificence and mystique of Ancient Egypt right to your fingertips.
We mean that literally: each pen is housed within a sarcophagus-shaped case, adorned with symbols borrowed from Egyptian artefacts and, in some cases, Pharaoh Tutankhamun’s legendary sarcophagus itself.
One such example is the scarab beetle, the ancient Egyptian symbol for immortality and rebirth. The insect appeared on a breastplate found in the Pharaoh’s tomb, which inspired Montblanc’s Limited Edition 5 pen. Like the breastplate, the pen’s case is made of gold and set with delicate inlays of lapis lazuli and turquoise. Besides beetles, you’ll also find the Uraeus — the Egyptian cobra symbol that served as a mark for royalty — perfectly sculpted out of white or yellow gold and lined with sapphire baguettes on the Limited Edition 1 Treasure, Limited Edition 1 Pharaoh and Limited Edition 5 designs.
Their cap tops are crowned, respectively, with an 8.72 ct royal blue Madagascan sapphire, a 5.13 ct brilliant cut diamond and a 1.85 ct brilliant cut diamond — all set in a unique, falcon-inspired setting. Others, like the Limited Edition 10 and Limited Edition 72, even feature the striking colours and patterns of Tutankhamun’s death mask.
But where Montblanc truly lays bare its artistry and attention to detail is in the use of intricate hieroglyphics throughout the collection. These have been pulled from Egyptian texts dating back to 1300 BC, and painstakingly engraved by hand along the pens’ caps and barrels. The German brand also got an Egyptology expert to translate its name into the ancient characters, the results of which appear across the collection.
Much like the treasures that were dug up from the Egyptian tombs all those years ago, there is much to mine and marvel at from Montblanc’s new designs. But not all of us will have the chance: there is only one of the Limited Edition 1 Treasure pen available in the whole world, while the rest of the designs are priced between €200,000 (S$321,376) and €600,000 (S$964,140).

Turning writing instruments into works of art, the new Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania - A Revival of Ancient Egyptian Treasures brings to life the glory of Ancient Egypt. I’m pleased to provide details about Montblanc’s breathtaking new collection. It is part of our Heritage line and pays tribute to mysterious and rich Egyptian history. EGYPTOMANIA. We are starting to receive the special edition pieces that will be more readily available in store but wanted to share with you some pictures of the High Artistry pieces for your consideration and enjoyment. Please see attached the 2 in a LE1 each, LE5, LE10 & LE72.
In the Special Edition, the hexagonal shape has ‘Montblanc’ engraved with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. The scarab on the clip is known in Egyptian mythology to promise a better afterlife. The Doue has the scripts from the “Book of Dead” engraved on cap and barrel. The ballpoint pens are very unusual, because they have a press/click mechanism instead of our traditional twist.
It is offered in Resin with bronze and Doue variations. The Fountain pen nib is part of the Heritage Collection and is therefore more soft/flexible than the Meisterstück.
For its Heritage collection of writing instruments, Montblanc resurrects historic pens from its past to celebrate the Maison’s rich history and reimagines those notable editions in a modern avatar that feature the latest designs and technical innovations. For 2020, the luxury brand decided to revisit the so-called Montblanc ‘Egyptian Fountain Pen’ from the 1920s and pay tribute to its beautiful design that was inspired by the ancient Egyptian civilization. Back in that era, the western world was smitten with Egyptian civilization, which is believed to be one of the oldest on the planet. The obsession started during the nineteenth century as a result of Napoleon’s Egyptian Campaign and peaked in the 1920s when King Tutankhamen’s tomb was discovered, which started the new era of “Egyptomania.” Some of the most important areas of culture influenced by Egyptomania were literature, architecture, art, film, politics, and religion. As a result, Montblanc released the Egyptian Fountain Pen with a design inspired by the ancient North African civilization.
The newest to join the Maison’s Heritage collection is the Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania writing instrument that offers a modern take on the century-old classic fountain pen. The design elements of the new writing instrument were created in partnership with an expert in Egyptology. It is decorated with a set of authentic hieroglyphics that translate into the word “Montblanc” with the symbols translating to “white stone mountain.” There are two versions of the new Montblanc Heritage Egyptomania pen, each available as a fountain pen, ballpoint pen, and rollerball pen. The first one is the Heritage Egyptomania Resin, which has an octagonal cap and barrel finished in precious black resin with authentic hieroglyphics, vintage gold-coated fittings , and a 14K gold nib with an embossed scarab. The other version is called Heritage Egyptomania Doué. It comes with an octagonal cap in precious black resin and a barrel with metal embellished with authentic hieroglyphics, vintage palladium-coated fittings, and a 14K gold nib with an embossed scarab. The hieroglyphics are taken from a passage of the “Book of the Dead” of Hunefer, a royal scribe who lived during the 19th century (1300 B.C).

The Vertebrata gown comes in 2 different colour variations: Dust (LE20) and Nude (LE10). Dust is a 2-tone cross weave silk of powder pink and black making the fabric an elegant dusty grey with a mauve hue. The Dust silk is coarse dupioni with a raw feel to it and the trail of the gown is a matching colour soft netting. The Nude is a luxurious silk satin in toned down shade of pale powder beige. The trail of the gown is a matching colour soft netting with golden hue. The colour variation share accessories in beige leatherette: three strap pumps with golden edgy spine heels and a clutch with metal corners. The focal points of the Vertebrata gowns are the metal ornaments on the shoulders and a pale gold spine snaking down the naked back.
If you have hard time deciding which colour to go for here are some tips: both "Dust" and "Nude" do perfectly with Nnaji's usual Chocolate skin tone. If you want the gown for Inro I recommend "Dust" as "Nude" does not compliment the Peach skin tone as well.
I've got many emails asking if the gown fits other dolls and I tried it on my Numina Devon and Sybarite. The Vertebrata gown fits the small bust Numina dolls Devon and Ajuma beautifully, but is too small for Sybarites (not sure about V3 as I don't have one at hand).
