This land monitor (varanus bengalensis) raised its head nicely as I got closer to it. The animal's snout is a little muddy from foraging - its diet is varied, including mice, ants, fruit, frogs, spiders, scorpions and beetles. Photographed in Yala, near Kirinda, Sri Lanka.

Genesis
I must've dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street
Now did you read the news today?
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
Burning into the night
There's too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go 'round
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?
Ooh this is the world we live in (Oh-oh-oh)
And these are the hands we're given (Oh-oh-oh)
Use them and let's start trying (Oh-oh-oh)
To make it a place worth living in
Ooh Superman, where are you now?
When everything's gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, men of power
Are losing control by the hour
This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go 'round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion
This is the world we live in (Oh-oh-oh)
And these are the hands we're given (Oh-oh-oh)
Use them and let's start trying (Oh-oh-oh)
To make it a place worth living in
I remember long ago
Ooh, when the sun was shining
Yes and the stars were bright
All through the night
And the sound of your laughter
As I held you tight
So long ago
I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know, we'll never keep
Too many men
There's too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go 'round
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?
Now this is the world we live in (Oh-oh-oh)
And these are the hands we're given (Oh-oh-oh)
Use them and let's start trying (Oh-oh-oh)
To make it a place worth fighting for
This is the world we live in (Oh-oh-oh)
And these are the names we're given (Oh-oh-oh)
Stand up and let's start showing (Oh-oh-oh)
Just where our lives are going to

Standing at land's end watching the waves crash ashore. On this evening, land's end was at rugged Irish Beach in Mendocino County. It tends to move around, depending on where I happen to be.

Joshua 18:6 “You shall survey the land into seven parts, and bring the description here to me; and I will cast lots for you here before Yahweh our God.”
Most of my work focuses on calm, still waters and the occasional boat. I find a sense of peace in the early mornings. Mostly quiet with very little going on. This is why I spend my days waking up at 3am and travelling to locations.
Aerial shot from a helicopter over South Iceland. Evidence of glacial and river erosion are everywhere as are the grey lava rocks from a long history of volcanic activity in the foreground. And as a contrast the small area of farmed land. It cant be an easy existence to farm this.
One of the brightest, boldest rainbows I've seen welcomed me as I approached a region of Glacier Park long known for it's mystical and spiritual aura. Named Two Medicine by the Blackfeet peoples who have for centuries sent their young warriers here on vision quests and spiritual seeking.
I too feel that pull and need to return here for rejuvenation, rejoicing and relaxation. Never fails to set my soul singing and reboot my spirit.
Some earlier scenes/moments I've enjoyed from this special area below……..
We're finally having some Spring-like weather here. :-))
Hope you are as well.
Thanks for your visit!

Land's End is the most westerly point of mainland England and Cornwall.
On our weekend trip to Cornwall we visited Land's End late afternoon because we were not interested in the tourist attractions and wanted to avoid the crowds. That part of the plan worked quite well.
What did not work as planned was the sunset shot of the rock arch because we got thick sea mist moving around the cape instead! Luckily I had a bit of filter play earlier and what you see here is the result.
Southward view from the highest point of Shiga - Kusatsu Hihgland Route at an altitude of 2,172 m. This is a reedit with Lightroom of a previously uploaded photo.
Behind the crater of Shiranesan are moto-shiranesan (original Shiranesan) and Asamayama. Jagged peaks to the right of Asamayama is Yatsugatake. Tip of Mt Fuji is seen to the left of Asamayama. They are all volcanoes.
The shooting site is called Shibu-touge pass (渋峠) which is a dividing ridge between the Pacific and Japan Sea slopes and a border between Gunma and Nagano prefectures.
It is on the slope of Yokoteyama (横手山) with an elevation of 2,307 m. It is another volcano.
It has to start somewhere for each of us...This is from a time past, here, where someone found that special land and was willing to do the labor, a labor of Love. This is one of the original tractors used, and flowers are since grown at the Working Farm at Dawset Trails. There is a working Smithy, various farm animals, and even grape vines. It is somehow steadying-puts one's feet firmly on the ground-to experience time here.
This is a peace and beautiful land, the mist made it like a dream feeling. Two pheasants were flying over the land without any sound. Here is the heart of England. Here is typical English countryside. Here is a dream land.
