I created this mandala for spiritual and material wealth and abundance and it is dedicated to the beautiful Goddess Lakshmi. I created it out of different textures and images and put them together like a collage in Photoshop.

Indian evening celebrating Diwali in Darmstadt 11/4/06

Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual.

In Her images and pictures, Lakshmi is depicted in a female form with four arms and four hands. She wears red clothes with a golden lining and is standing on a lotus.

•The four arms represent the four directions in space and thus symbolize omnipresence and omnipotence of the Goddess. The red color syinbolizes activity. The golden lining denotes prosperity.

•The four hands represent the four ends of human life: dharma (righteousness), kama (genuine desires), artha (wealth), and moksha (liberation from birth and death). The front hands represent the activity in the physical world and the back hands indicate the spiritual activities that lead to spiritual perfection

Goddess Lakshmi is the Hindu deity of wealth, fortune, prosperity, beauty, and power, and the consort of Lord Vishnu. She is often depicted as a radiant goddess seated on a lotus, holding symbols of her divine attributes, and is widely worshipped during festivals like Diwali.

About twenty years ago I bought a small porcelain figure. It looked nice, but I did not know what it meant.

Recently learned that is LAKSHMI, Goddess of Wealth. I found it funny because I've never had many millions ☺. I have always believed more in other riches.

I think the biggest wealth that my wife and my life has given to me is my beloved son. He is all my inspiration. He's already 19

FULL MOON LAKSHMI

According to Hindu legend, Lakshmi was created at the same time as the moon during the great churning of the milky ocean. Lakshmi is considered a central goddess in Hinduism and is celebrated on Diwali - "The festival of lights".

Lakshmi is the goddess of beauty, fortune, luck and success.

In Bengal, Lakshmi is worshiped during a night in Autumn when the moon is full, the brightest night of the year. It is believed that she showers wealth on this night
