Lake O'Hara is one of the best-preserved places in the Canadian Rockies. It sits high in the Canadian Rockies at an elevation of 2,020m (6,627 feet). It is a beautiful sub-alpine glacial lake surrounded by the towering peaks of the Canadian Rockies. There are so many accessible trails starting right from the lake, hikers can easily spend days here without getting bored. But 11-kilometer to the lake in one way from parking lot, you can either take the shuttle or hike in. If you are lucky to reserve the shuttle, you can spare this 22-kilometer walking, save the energy to climb 10~20 kilometers mountains. Access to Lake O’Hara is strictly controlled with a reservation system, which means that it is never crowded.
Luckily got camping reservation for 3 days, it was pure nature without cell signals and electricity. Unfortunately, it was raining and cloudy most of time, plus the forest fire from Jasper, the sky was covered with foggy most of time. Here is the view of Lake O'Hara and adjacent Mary Lake, the crystal-clear lakes, hanging valleys, towering snow-capped mountains, and the pristine nature that shows the best Yoho National Park has to offer.

Tasman Lake is a proglacial lake formed by the recent retreat of the Tasman Glacier in New Zealand's South Island. In the early 1970s, there were several small meltwater ponds on the Tasman Glacier. By 1990, these ponds had merged into Tasman Lake.

This series of photos continues to show my fascination with misty scenes, all four were taken the same morning, but of disparate landscapes.
In this fourth and last image, even though the sun has been up for hours, it has only just cleared the mountain opposite and is finally burning off the last of the mist at Talybont Reservoir, the lake itself is still in shadow.
The distance traveled by car from the first to last shot is about 13 miles (although they are all much, much closer as the crow flies) and took 86 minutes, you just have to love the Brecon Beacons!

Convict Lake sunrise.
I was hoping for more interest in the sky, but this shot, which was taken before the sunrise, had its own personality. The top of Laurel Mountain was just starting to light up with the shadow on the eastern side of the lake created unanticipated drama.
Medicine Lake is located within Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is located approximately 20 km southeast of the townsite of Jasper, Alberta. Medicine Lake is approximately 7 km long and is a relatively shallow lake.

Sunset in the aspen parkland region at Islet Lake. It is a small lake in the Blackfoot Grazing and Recreation Reserve east of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The area is a mix of aspen forest, spruce forest, small wetlands and assorted small lakes and intermittent pastureland.
I was out there with a small group of photographers participating in a night photography course where we were hoping for clear skies to photograph the stars and possibly some northern lights.
