The St. John's Church Stuttgart on Lake of Fire is one of the architectural highlights in the west of Stuttgart. The neo-Gothic Church of St. John built between 1865-1876 by architect Christian Friedrich von Leins and was the first church to be built in Stuttgart after the Reformation.

One bad thing about Collins Lake is the cell reception SUCKS...which can be a good thing too but when you need to make a phone call in a hurry, you have to leave the park and travel up the road above the lake...

This guy was force feeding me BACON in my dream this morning. Imagine getting breakfast cooked to perfection by a high level demon. I guess the torture part was waking up and realizing I can't eat BACON anymore. Doh!
This is a magic lantern side showing a magnificent portrait of a Sandwich Board man standing near Cleopatra’s Needle on Victoria Embankment. His Sandwich Board is advertising a Firework display at Alexandra Palace on Thursday 20th September but with no year. I believe this is 1888 when the Firework Company of James Pain produced a gigantic display with a “Lake of Fire”, the “of Fire” can be seen on the lower part of the Sandwich Board. Pain's Fireworks and Brock's fireworks were the two largest manufacturers of Fireworks in Victorian England. The competition was fierce, and each had a ready-made venue at which to display their wares. Brock's held displays at Crystal Palace in South London and Pains at Alexandra Palace in North London. The displays at Alexandra Palace were held throughout the summer as well as the usual dates for Firework displays but in 1888 there was an added attraction during the summer. Thomas Scott Baldwin otherwise known as Professor Baldwin, was an American parachutist which was a novel occupation back then. He would ascend to 1000 feet in a Hydrogen balloon sitting on a trapeze like contraption with the parachute already deployed and tied to the side of the balloon, when he jumped his weight broke the retaining bonds and he would float safely back to earth. He was getting crowds of over 60000 people at every performance but the firework display on 20th September outdid even him and crowds of 65000 plus were reported. Baldwin is now recognised as the father of the modern parachute.

A brilliant, fiery sunset over Lake Midnapore.
Even though the day was kind of overcast and it is supposed to start raining tomorrow, we knew me might not have many suitable weather days left for evenings at the lake, so we knew we had to go.
The worst of the clouds burned off, leaving just enough to provide some stunning atmospherics for the brilliant, fiery sunset I was lucky enough to get many beautiful shots of.
it happens that the eggs and bacon are local, as is the summer squash shredded into the pancake mix.
An intensely orange and yellow sunset over the lake last night, in its very final stages, with the sun sinking slowly down into the trees beyond the lake, casting the calm, still water in fiery hues.
I have been wanting to use this title for a while but never had a shot that I felt was fully appropriate for it until now; it is the name of one of my very favorite Meat Puppets songs, and was also covered excellently by Nirvana in their haunting Unplugged in New York live set / album.

You see, man's problem is SIN. We all sin, everyday-

God who is Holy. James 2:10 says:
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
According to God's word, all it takes is one sin to be cast into the Lake Of Fire for eternity.
Hell is a real place of torment for the soul, and it is forever.
It was not created for humans but for Satan and his angels. Matthew 25:41
Sin began in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve fell into temptation to Satan by eating the forbidden fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.
Satan is the god of THIS world. He has armies of demons working all over: Hollywood, Music industry, TV, Radio, and yes.. even the "Christian music and movie industry".
The bible says:
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Just because the word "Christian" is put before worldly things.. it doesn't make it Christian and right in the eyes of the Lord.

There is NO party in hell, you will not see any friends, there is no rest. Only torment by evil devils for eternity.

God was patient with me. He could have sent me to Hell a long time ago. I was a club/rave DJ for 17 years. I rocked the crowds, I did the drugs, I played drums in a couple bands, i promoted parties and made them happen with my "crew". I thought i was pretty cool. Now i see that i wasn't .
I make no excuses for my sin..I had a what the bible calls a
reprobate mind: A mind void of right and wrong. I just did what felt good . My conscience was almost given over, but.. The Lord had other plans for me.
After moving to Canada and a divorce, i returned to Maui
and after one year of living the DJ life.. i knew something was
wrong with the way i was living. I was a cocaine, drug, and alcohol abuser. i was on my way to HELL!
One day i watched a video on YouTube, the guy was talking about sin, but when he started talking about Hell
and how i was going to go there and have real memories and feel real pain.. suddenly it hit me!
I had never been a Christian and I don't want to go to Hell.
It took many more months and a trip to the "Holy Land" in the middle east. One day, i realized i had sinned against a Holy God
and i deserved Hell forever. I got on my knees and repented of every sin i could ever remember.
I repented with a Godly sorrow and asked Jesus Christ to forgive me.
JESUS CHRIST IS GOD AND IS ALIVE RIGHT NOW IN HEAVEN.
HE TOOK OUR PUNISHMENT FOR SIN ON THE CROSS SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS PUT YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST ALONE.
CONFESS YOUR SINS TO HIM AND TURN FROM YOUR WICKED WAYS AND TRUST JESUS CHRIST FOR SALVATION. THIS IS WHAT REPENTANCE IS.. A CHANGED MIND.
CRY OUT TO GOD FOR MERCY AND HE WILL HEAR YOUR PRAYER. THEN FIND A BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH AND START READING A KING JAMES BIBLE AND GET TO KNOW GOD THROUGH HIS WORD.
Don't wait. Hell is real. NO WARNING IS TOO STRONG.

Regarding Revelation 20 and the 'thousand years'.
Revelation 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

J. S. Russell, author of "The Parousia" (published in 1878) believes that the '1,000 years' have not been fulfilled and therefore Satan is still in his prison.
From pg 514:
Some interpreters [Moses Stuart] indeed attempt to get over the difficulty by supposing that the thousand years, being a symbolic number, may represent a period of very short duration, and so bring the whole within the prescribed apocalyptic limits; but this method of interpretation appears to us so violent and unnatural that we cannot hesitate to reject it.....
He goes on to explain his take on Satan today (pp 515-519):
1. No one will contend that the symbols in the vision require a literal or physical chaining of the dragon. Common sense will teach that "all that is meant is the repression and restriction of satanic power during the period indicated. Now there seems no reason to doubt that before and during our Saviour's incarnation there was an energy and activity of moral evil existing in the earth far exceeding anything that is now known among men. It is not unreasonable to suppose that the period of our Lord's earthly life was a season of intense and unparalled activity among the powers of darkness. If they knew that the champion of God, the Redeemer of mankind was come in order that "he might destroy the works of the devil, that there was cause for their alarm; and our Lord's temptations in the wilderness, and the malignant opposition to Christ and His cause everywhere, ascribed in the New Testament to Satan, reveal both the knowledge of the adversary respecting the Saviour's mission and His unceasing efforts to counteract it. In addition to this, the remarkable prevalence of the mysterious phenomenon of demoniacal possession in the time of Christ is a decisive proof of the presence and activity of a malefic spiritual influence, in a form and degree to which us is unknown, and to many even incredible. Unless then we are prepared to give up the reality of that mysterious influence, and resolve it into mere popular ignorance or delusion, we must admit that there has been a marked and decisive check to the power of Satan over men since the time of Christ. The same may be said respecting the prevelance of moral evil in that age of the world. Let anyone consider what Rome was in the days of Nero, and what Jerusalem was in the closing period of the Jewish commonwealth, and he will at once concede the undeniable fact of an abnormal and portentious development of wickedness such to as appear incredible.Juvenal and Tacitus bear witness of Rome, and Josephus of Jerusalem; and it is not contrary to reason, while wholly agreeable to Revelation, to infer that such ernormous and colossal vice betrays the operation of satanic influence.
2. It deserves, further, to be considered that the sin of idolatry, with all its mimicry of supernatural and divine power,- a system which Scriptures recognize pre-eminantly the work of the devil,- was in our Saviour's time in full and undisturbed posession of nearly the entire world. When we remember what Greece was, and what Rome was, in respect to their national religion, in the apostolic age; the authority, antiquity and popularity of their gods, and the way in which their worship had entwined itself around every act of public and private life, it seems astonishing that a system so time-honoured and inveterate should have withered away so as to have wholly disappeared from the face of the earth. No one can be at a loss to account for this remarkable change: it is entirely due to the influence of Christianity; and but for this element in civilisation there is no reason to think that the ancient superstitions of Heathenism would have died out or given place to something better.
3. It is no less certain that this marvellous revolution must be dated from the time when the Gospel began to be preached in the apostolic age. We have the most convincing proofs that the change is not to be explained by the advancement of knowledge, or science, or philosophy, nor by the progress of human society, but that it was predicted and expected from the very birth of Christianity as the redemptive work of Christ. Nothing can be more explicit than the declarations of our Lord on this subject. When the seventy disciples returned with joy to report how even the devils were subject to them through their Master's name, Jesus said to them 'I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven' (Luke x. 18). It is absurd to explain this as an allusion to Satan's original expulsion from heaven, before the creation of the world; it is evidently a figurative declaration that in the success of His messengers our Lord recognized and foresaw the coming overthrow of the power of Satan...
To the same effect is our Lord's saying, 'Now is the judgment of the world now shall the prince of this world be cast out' (John xii. 31). What meaning can be attached to these significant words if they do not imply a powerful check was about to be given to the influence of Satan over the minds of men; a check arising wholly from the death of Christ upon the cross?
But it is in this apocalyptic vision that we see the curbing of Satan's power. It is here evidently defined as to the time of its commencement, and associated with the downfall of Jerusalem, and the cosequent abrogation of the Jewish dispensation. Nor is there any absurdity in accepting this date. The abolition of Judaism was the removal of the most formidable obstacle to the progress of Christianity; but, besides this we have the most express assurance in the New Testament that this was the consummation of the period of the Messianic Kingdom and of Christ's putting down all hostile rule, and authority, and power (1 Corinthians xv. 24).
We conclude, therefore, that at 'the end of the age', a marked and decisive check was given to the power of Satan; which check is symbolically represented in the apocalypse by the chaining and imprisoning of the dragon in the abyss. It does not follow from this that error and evil were banished from the earth...
There was an hour when the tide of human wickedness began to turn; it was at that very period when the tide was in flood; ever since that time it has been ebbing and we have no difficulty in recognising the first abatement in the power of evil as corresponding in time the event here designated the binding of Satan and his imprisonment in the abyss.
Respecting the duration of the restriction of satanic power it is not easy to determine; but it seems on the whole most in consonance with the symbolical character of the Apocalypse to understand the thousand years as significant of a long but indefinite period. When we have high numbers stated in the Apocalypse they are usually, if not invariably, to be understood indefinitely. For example, it is not to be supposed that the hundred and forty and four thousand of the sealed signify exactly that number, and no more and no less. It would be absurd to say that there would be exactly twelve thousand, to a man, saved out of each of the twelve tribes of Israel. The conception is appropriate in a vision, but incredible in a historical statement. In like manner the army of the horsemen in chap ix. 16 is set down as two hundred million; but no sane commentator ever ventured to assign to this a precise and literal signification. Following these analogies we are disposed to regard the thousand years as a definite for an indefinite period, counting doubtless more than that space of time, but how much more none can tell.

J. S. Russell took the phrase 'thousand years' literally. Throughout his entire book he points out that Jesus' "Second Coming" occured in AD70.
If one reads Revelation 20 one will see that only after Satan is loosed from his prison, the abyss, does Christ return.
Revelation starts and ends saying that the "things" John saw in his vision were about to be fulfilled- that these "things were "at hand" and that Jesus said His "Second Coming" was "at hand" and that He was coming "quickly":
Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Revelation 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
Revelation 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Russell's book to me is by far the best on eschatology one can find and I learned many things from his book- mainly that NERO was 'the beast from the sea' of Rev 13.
But I must disagree with him on his exegesis of Rev 20 and where Satan is at this point in time. I believe Satan is in Hell- the Lake of Fire, along with "The Beast From The Sea"- NERO and the "False Prophet"- "The Beast From The Earth (Judea)" who might have been the High Priest in Jerusalem at the time.
I believe the 'thousand years' began when the 'two witnesses' of Rev 11 (James, the brother of Jesus and Peter) were killed by the [image of the] beast from the sea, NERO (whose name, written in Hebrew adds up to 666) and the beast from the earth-the false prophet from Judea. The beast and the false prophet were thrown alive into the lake of fire immediately after they killed the two witnesses.
The 'thousand years' ended when the 3 1/2 days of Rev 11 ended and the bodies of the two witnesses, which laid in the streets of Jerusalem for the duration of the 3 1/2 days, rose and were taken to heaven.
And that was when the resurrection took place. First the dead, then the living, so, after all the dead in Christ were raised, those who were still alive were "gathered" (Mt 24) or "raptured" as they say today.
Satan, who had been loosed from the abyss after the 3 1/2 days ended, approached "the camp of the saints", the remaining Christians in Jerusalem who did not accept Nero's mark and who had lasted to the very end of the great tribulation period, to destroy them. But, they were "gathered" before he could attack them. Then he was thrown "alive" into the lake of fire where the beast and the false prophet were for 3 1/2 days earlier. The last enemy, death, was defeated because the souls of those those who were in "the grave" were resurrected when the "two witnesses" were "gathered".
Then, the wrath of God began. The judgment of the 12 tribes of Israel commenced. The rest is history.
So, I believe Satan has no power or influence on man today.
The evil that we see coming from man today is not because "the devil made me do it." It is merely the result of the acts of sinful man.
That's what I believe.

Okay, here's the deal.
You absolutely, positively cannot BRING your registration card for your new bicycle to the Records Section at Police Headquarters at 35th and Michigan, EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAPPEN TO BE THERE, STANDING AT THE WINDOW, to get a full police report on your stolen one (that costs 50 cents, by the way) in place of the partial report the police mail you, which doesn't even list what was stolen. When I mentioned this lack of itemization to the woman at the window, she said, "That's not supposed to be on there." Whuh!???
I had been there the day before to take care of those two things; unfortunately, their computer system was down, but no one told me that I couldn't register my bike in person, even though I TOLD them that was one of the two things I was there to do.
Anyway, you must MAIL the new bike registration to the Records Section, and to make sure it gets into someone's hot little hands, you should pay the extra 6 bucks and send it Certified Mail. $6.11, to be exact.
That thief is nickel-and-diming me to death, above and beyond the cost of the stolen bike, the new bike, and that $109 Kryptonite lock. I hope he gets hit by a bus and goes straight to hell, and that Sunday-dressed-on-a-Thursday-old-man lookout right along with him.
On the bright side, my bike sat locked in front of Headquarters for over an hour, and nobody tried to steal it. Little victories.

The Wolf said to Little Red Riding Hood "Nobody ever had to be sent to Hell. The idea that God predetermined some people to be sent into Hell is a Muslim doctrine, called Taqdir, which is Arabic for "measure", and refers to Allah's divine decrees that some people be sent to Hell, and some to be taken into paradise, and only Allah will decide this, irregardless how devout a Muslim might be. Hell was prepared strictly for the devil and his angels. When Jesus described the separation of the Sheep from the Goats in Matthew 25:33-46, He shall say to those who have rejected Him, "Depart from Me, ye accursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels." I guess from God's point of view, He probably figures, "All people need to do is believe in Me, and My Word, and when their life on earth ends, I'll simply bring them into Heaven - what's so hard about that?"

They will have their memories to contend with for eternity. The "flames of torment" are not flames that will destroy. They will be thirsty.... :

Lake Of Fire And Brimstone -
My parents had warned me never to play with fire but one of the most mischievous things I ever did as a child, was carrying out what they said not to. On one occasion when nobody was home, I struck a match to watch how fire would prance on a stick because some things can only be seen when you ignite the flame. Recently I had the opportunity to watch the fire blazed again, this time through a fire tornado demonstration. Nature’s fury never lost his charm and was mesmerizing as yesteryear. As they tossed the spark into the gasoline-filled arena, a snickering fire appeared and morphed quickly into a twisting column of volcano larva, shooting six meters high. I could feel the heat searing my face yet I stare at it without blinking. At the bottom of the fury, an orange man in hooded cape and an oddly shaped frog were guffawing as they swirled in the ring. When they were stirred up and melded into unrecognizable forms on the eye wall of the cyclone, their chortling became muffled screams. Mystic beings struggled to keep afloat but I offer no hand or safety vine and watched in mixed emotions as they drowned one by one. As rain falls and collects in pools, fire ascent and strews souls.
