A smoggy sunrise in Lahore. The composition could've been better but this was taken from a moving car (no I was not the one driving). Even though the plane is too close to the corner I kept the shot as it shows the contrast between the two motor bikes in the left hand corner and the jet in the upper right.

Lahore is a city with busy bazars. I took this photo from my flat terrace today. You might think there are not many people on in the street but you can believe me that you find it difficult to walk when you get in there.
According to a map of Lahore which shows the city in 2021, the centre of the city will be Punjab University New campus. The mud house settlement you see in this picture, will be replaced by new societies of houses to accomodate the expanding population of Lahore.
Afif's forefathers made swords for the aristocracy of the Mughal court. After the decline of the Mughals, they stopped making swords and started making scissors and knives, the steel comes from Karachi. They moved from Amritsar (present day India) to Lahore in 1947 during partition. His main clients today are tailors and cobblers. "I am worried about the impact of cheaper chinese goods on our business."

The cheap flights to Lahore gives you the long simmering opportunity to visit this site. The political upheavals put the country into trouble for some time and driving the increasing numbers of the young and educated away to set up their lives abroad. The situation is little bit unsatisfactory but not to lose the opportunity of grabbing the beauty of Lahore.
The Lahore Fort, locally referred to as Shahi Qila (Punjabi, Urdu: شاہی قلعہ) is citadel of the city of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located in the northwestern corner of the Walled City of Lahore in Iqbal Park which is one of the largest urban parks in Pakistan. The trapezoidal composition is spread over 20 hectares.

Origins of the fort go as far back as antiquity, however, the existing base structure was built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar between 1556–1605 and was regularly upgraded by subsequent Mughal, Sikh and British rulers. It has two gates one is known as Alamgiri Gate build by Emperor Aurangzeb which opens towards Badshahi Mosque and other older one known as Maseeti (Punjabi language word means of Masjid) or Masjidi Gate which opens towards Masti Gate Area of Walled City and was built by Emperor Akbar. Currently Alamgiri Gate is used as the principal entrance while Masti Gate is permanently closed .The fort manifests the rich traditions of Mughal architecture. Some of the famous sites inside the fort include: Sheesh Mahal, Alamgiri Gate, Naulakha pavilion, and Moti Masjid. In 1981, the fort was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the Shalimar Gardens.
