U.S. Chargé d’ Affaires, Ambassador Richard Hoagland views the USA Pavilion at the Dawn Agri-Expo and Conference 2012 on February 18 at the Lahore Expo Center. The event was the second in a series of Dawn-sponsored events that began in Karachi last week. The Chargé and Consul General had the opportunity to meet with local companies implementing U.S. agricultural development projects and talk to Pakistani and international exhibitors showcasing new farming technologies, equipment, and practices.
Tomb of Jahangir, (Urdu: جهانگير کا مقبرہ) is the mausoleum built for the Mughal Emperor Jahangir who ruled from 1605 to 1627. The mausoleum is located near the town of Shahdara Bagh in Lahore, Pakistan. His son Shah Jahan built the mausoleum 10 years after his father's death. It is sited in an attractive walled garden.

Lahore is a city with busy bazars. I took this photo from my flat terrace today. You might think there are not many people on in the street but you can believe me that you find it difficult to walk when you get in there.
According to a map of Lahore which shows the city in 2021, the centre of the city will be Punjab University New campus. The mud house settlement you see in this picture, will be replaced by new societies of houses to accomodate the expanding population of Lahore.

It has four 30 meter high minarets. The interior is embellished with frescoes and pietra dura inlay and coloured marble. The mausoleum features prominently on the Pakistan Rupees 1,000 denomination bank note.

The political upheavals put the country into trouble for some time and driving the increasing numbers of the young and educated away to set up their lives abroad. The situation is little bit unsatisfactory but not to lose the opportunity of grabbing the beauty of Lahore.
The Lahore Fort, locally referred to as Shahi Qila (Punjabi, Urdu: شاہی قلعہ) is citadel of the city of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is located in the northwestern corner of the Walled City of Lahore in Iqbal Park which is one of the largest urban parks in Pakistan. The trapezoidal composition is spread over 20 hectares.

Origins of the fort go as far back as antiquity, however, the existing base structure was built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar between 1556–1605 and was regularly upgraded by subsequent Mughal, Sikh and British rulers. It has two gates one is known as Alamgiri Gate build by Emperor Aurangzeb which opens towards Badshahi Mosque and other older one known as Maseeti (Punjabi language word means of Masjid) or Masjidi Gate which opens towards Masti Gate Area of Walled City and was built by Emperor Akbar. Currently Alamgiri Gate is used as the principal entrance while Masti Gate is permanently closed .The fort manifests the rich traditions of Mughal architecture. Some of the famous sites inside the fort include: Sheesh Mahal, Alamgiri Gate, Naulakha pavilion, and Moti Masjid. In 1981, the fort was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the Shalimar Gardens.
