This ladder sits in an industrial alley between my house and my local grocerie. I've no idea what it's used for but it moves around a bit and sometimes the shadows are great.

Got a chance to get some close shots of this lady Ladder-backed Woodpecker at the Salineño feeding station. She was happy to pose for peanut butter!

JACOB'S LADDER
traditional, additional lyrics by Pete Seeger
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
Brothers, sisters, all
Every rung goes higher and higher
Every rung goes higher and higher
Every rung goes higher and higher
Brothers, sisters, all
We are dancing Sarah's circle
We are dancing Sarah's circle
We are dancing Sarah's circle
Sisters, brothers, all
Every round a generation
Every round a generation
Every round a generation
Sisters, brothers, all
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
Brothers, sisters, all
I insist that you see this one LARGE!
I'm using this photo to officially announce my new blog. I've mentioned it a briefly in previous posts, but now it is really up and running. It will feature before and afters of my photos, tutorials (soon), and weekly interviews with artists I find inspirational. This week I interviewed one of my flickr favorites, Midnight-Digital, and next week I will interview the incomparable Solea, so be sure to check back.
Jacob's Ladder is actually the real name of this staircase that scales an enormous hill in my hometown. I used three images that I captured to create this (check out before and afters) and the lighting was inspired by the aforementioned, Midnight-Digital.
Taken at Taos Pueblo some time ago with added textures from Distressed Jewel (Fall Returns) and lenabem (Autumn).

A ladder is a tool which is made for people to climb up or down. Ladders have two vertical supports that go along the whole length of the ladder. Between these supports are the horizontal rungs. The rung is what the climber can put his foot on. (Wikipedia)
