A fishing village north of Chennai, India after a devastating typhoon, the original photo sent to us by our friend the Reverend Philip Kuldeep who ministers aid. We added an artistic makeover, and we also support Philip in his charitable works.

It was a bit of a hike to reach this place, and perhaps I edited these images remembering a bit of the trepidation I felt walking along the muddy, slippery, slopes, several hundred feet above the roiling waters below. Traelanipan has the rumored, infamous distinction of once being the place where Vikings hurled unfortunate souls over the edge to their death, into the frigid water below. Now it is a place for lovers, hikers, and determined photographers, and it did not disappoint!

“I don’t know what magic unknown roads have that makes me want to put myself out of my comfort zone, the feeling of discovering something unknown drives me into walking miles with a constant smile while embracing the creations.”

― Kuldeep Gera

In this photo I like the symmetry also that the pot is breaking that symmetry! Taken in "fatehpur sikri" INDIA.

More killer Brutalism in Delhi. A brilliant Facebook set by "Printer's Devil" documents this and other Delhi monuments of the post-independence Modernist period. Apparently, this is known as the "pyjama building." (Thanks to Iqbal for drawing my attention to that set.)

Taken from the Window of Cruise.

The basic idea behind panning as a technique is that you move your

camera along in time with the moving subject and end up getting a

relatively sharp subject but a blurred background with motion blur.

The world's largest refugee camp is located in Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh. One million Rohingya fled genocide in Myanmar and are living in precarious conditions for years. Master of Architecture students of the University of Hong Kong present device prototypes, instruments, and educational material for gardening, composting, sustainable toilets, aquaponics, rainwater harvesting, and cartography, developed in collaboration with humanitarian experts and refugees on the ground. With global warming, sea-level rise, political and health crisis, hundreds of millions of refugees will need better technologies, designs, and architecture that protect the environment and create life opportunities.

Bhai Kuldeep Singh Ji (Australia), (Late) Bhai Rama Singh Ji (UK), Bhai Hardial Singh Ji (London), Bhai Jarnail Singh Ji (leamington), (Late) Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji (Greavsend)

Kuldeep and his family live in the slums of Delhi.

It was a real privilege to be able to meet them all (his brother and parents) in their home last month when we were in India. Kuldeeps father had a nasty accident and is not able to work many hours a week.

A very happy and loving family - living in one room.

World Vision is doing a fantastic job in this area to ensure the children are adequately fed, have health checks and an education etc. Volunteers check on families on a daily basis

It costs only 800 rupees a month (NZ $16) to give these children a chance in life. I intend to follow Kuldeep through to adulthood. He is a very small, bright and charming 7 year old - seen here wearing his school uniform.
