:10 Things: April #6 My Krispy Kreme mug

For Thursday Coffee with the SLoWDbOS gals... my very favoritest favorite mug in the whole wide world.

When I was a young girl, my dad would take my brother and me to Krispy Kreme on Saturday mornings. He sat at the main counter with other daddy-friends and smoked cigarettes and drank coffee. My brother and I got to pick 1 donut each, and enjoy it at the opposite counter, with a paper pint of chocolate milk. This mug makes me think of those days and the smell inside the Krispy Kreme closest to where I lived. Sugar, coffee, cigarette smoke and the smell of my father.

I took this of Krispy Kreme doughnut shop.

This Krispy Kreme anchored the intersection of Birmingham,s Oporto-Madrid and Crestwood Boulevard (US78) for a lot of years. Especially, at night, it's lights drew me like a magnet, coffee and a couple of white iced cake, please.

Former Krispy Kreme Doughnuts at 7901 Greenback Lane(Sunrise Festival center across from Sunrise Mall)in Citrus Heights.First opened around a decade ago(give or take a year),it was the last remaining Krispy Kreme in the Sac metro region when it closed in August 2007.Though whether this vacant building will ever be occupied again is an unknown as of this writing,I can say that Krispy Kreme's California presence is now currently limited to 4 locations a piece in the Bay Area and SoCal...

Before this building went up,this was the site of a Glendale Federal Savings branch that lasted until around 1997(maybe 1998)when its parent merged with California Federal(Cal Fed)Bank and consolidated its operations with the CalFed branch on Sunrise@Pebble Beach(now a Citibank as it bought out CalFed several years ago)...

the other day i went with charlotte to her chiropractor, which just happened to be near krispy kreme and m&s.

i'm not sure how i feel about this picture. i think i like it mostly because char was there. and it's krispy kreme. and apple juice. suggestions?
