Khast Imam (or Hast Imam) is a complex of buildings in Tashkent, consisting of several mosques, islamic schools (madrassa), such as Barak-Khan, Tilla Sheikh Mosque and the Hazrat Imam mosque. The Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari, where future preachers are taught is also at this complex. The Muyi Muborak Madrasah contains the Uthman Qur'an (Samarkand codex), considered to be the oldest existing Quran in the world. Dating from 655 and stained with the blood of the murdered caliph, Uthman, it was brought by Timur to Samarkand, seized by the Russians as a war trophy and taken to Saint Petersburg. It was returned to Uzbekistan in 1924.

The library of spiritual control is stored more than thirty thousand books; there are two thousand rarities among them. The Holy book – Koran of the Rashidun Caliph Uthman is the special value for believers.
The present photo has been taken from the gates of Barak Khan Madarsa. The left structure is the Juma Masjid while the smaller structure on right is the Library having the Holy Uthman Koran.
Marabut (tomb) of Sidi Abderrahmane is located on a small rocky island among a densely built-up village.
The legend says that Sidi Abderrahmane came from Baghdad in the 18th century. He was illiterate and could not learn the verses of the Koran. He settled on a rocky island to praise God with his lute. He was a hermit and saint, he had the power to walk on the water. He had the ability to treat diseases, including mental diseases. After his death, he was buried on the island he lived in.
Today, the island resembles a miniature city around the tomb of Sidi Abderrahmane, surrounded by green fabric (the traditional color of Islam).
The island was accessible only during the outflow of the ocean, but in 2013 a stone arch bridge was built and the place lost its unique character.

Wooden Koran bridge under the snow
The wooden bridge over the Korana rests under falling snow, like a scene from an old, quiet winter…
Snow drifts softly, boats lie still along the shore, and in the distance stands the old wooden bridge — a witness to countless steps and countless winters. Today, the Korana is perfectly calm, a mirror that holds everything: the bridge, the boats, and the gentle snowflakes settling on its surface. One of those rare moments when both the river and the town seem to pause, just to offer this view.
Drveni koranski most pod snijegom
Drveni koranski most pod snijegom izgleda kao prizor iz neke stare, tihe zime…
Snijeg lagano pada, čamci miruju vezani uz obalu, a u daljini stoji stari drveni most koji pamti mnoge korake i mnoge zime.
Kordun's ethno-cultural region: in the south the river Koran, in the west Mrežnica, Kupa in the north and in the east and the Glinaand so-colled "dry" border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The relief, Kordun the transition zone between the Dinara mountain areas and lowland area of Central Croatian.

Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Museum, which is located in a modern building in Samanids' National Park, was established in 2001 and was constructed to the design of Zoirsho Kilichev, the chief architect of Bukhara city. It is a unique design, as it is shaped as a book which is partially open, with the spine facing south.
The museum is dedicated to the life of Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al Bukhari, the outstanding researcher of Hadith and Islamic theology. Al-Bukhari’s fundamental work is “Al-Jome as Sahih,” which is a sacred book in Islam after the Koran. To write this book the scholar had studied more than 600,000 hadiths (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad).
Bibi-Khanym Mosque
In the middle of the courtyard is located the stone pedestal — the huge Quran stand— crafted from ornate marble blocks. This remarkable sight originates from the time of Timur.
The stand was made by order of Ulugbek, and was originally under the dome, and has been standing in this place since 1875.
