Created in Photoshop, this is actually one of my favorite things I've done. I can't even describe how awesome this is.
What's up with Kool Aid Man and the Spanish drug lord mustache?

Packet art variation for the original Berry Blue in the '70s or 80s.
This is not the same flavor as Berry Blue that is sold today (see here). They reformulated it after taking it off the shelves in the late '70s, early '80s.
The closest flavor that currently exists to this is <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/paxtonholley/32687494

Color-changing flavor from the '80s and '90s. One of the flavors that used a character other than Kool-Aid Man to market it. See Purplesaurus Rex, Great Bluedini and Sharkleberry Fin.
I'd thought I'd give sculptures a go at it. Inspired by all the great works you are familiar with and Model Gal's recent sculpture had inspired me to give it a shot. Kids, Adults alike.....Don't try this at home...unless your ok with living in padded cells. Leave this to the people we all know and love for doing this kinda work. I hope I never get the bright idea of doing one of these anytime soon. Anyway, I had lots of Red , so this a great solution for freeing up much needed storage space. I wanted to mostly try it with just bricks. I used plates in the smile, mostly because it looked like an evil red turd with a crooked smile. Anyway here it is. Enjoy.
My kool-aid cups as candle holders. I'm a bit of a novelty junkie(especially if it's a throw back to the 80's).

Taken by some unknown person - archived by me in case the last source for this photograph disappears from the intarwebs. So priceless. So, so priceless. (And I got to see it in person!)
Backstory: a guy ran a truck into this official University of Maryland brick entrance wall/sign thing, leaving an enormous hole. The administrators decided to temporarily cover it with a large banner of a fighting terrapin ("Go Terps!"). But administrators are known for stuffiness, while students are occasionally known for mischevious brilliance. As they demonstrated here. Ahh, memories.

It's the last day of August, and the last day of my attempt at a photo a day over August. I don't know how people manage 365-day projects - I found 31 days challenging.
Today I am fighting a cold so I'm hopped up on vitamins and echinicea, and playing with ink/water/milk drops for today's photo. This one was when I was dropping food coloring and trying to catch a water drop at the same time. The drop itself is not that exciting, and maybe I'm just high on vitamin C, but I thought the spreading ink made a creepy yet cool looking facial profile. I then added a little texture to bring out the abstract feel.
Classic promotional camera for 110 film, branded with the logo for the Kool-Aid drink. Made in China.
Not a great camera obviously, but not bad for what it is....
bowl of Kool-Aid dyed yarns
My friends and I dyed yarn all day in Koolaid! It was such fun. We simmered yarn on the oven, in the microwave, in the sunshine. I brought 5 skeins and dyed all 5. I mostly did stovetop simmering, but I also did a microwave and a hand painted one where I squirted different toned pinks and reds. They are vibrant and beautiful a cheerful. I am going to have to try the ice cubes in the sun because my friends daughter got amazing results with that. I want to dye more!!! :)
Also I am reading several books on natural dyes. I am planning on planting more things to use as dyes, like beets and fennel and Hollyhock. :) I am making my own mordants, and yesterday while chatting with the gal working at a landscaping place she gave me some copper wire (((GAVE))) to make a copper mordant until I find a copper pot at some thrift store or estate sale. The copper makes such lovely bluey greens.
I am so excited to experiment.
Kool Aid ready for dying..
Warning! Don't try to make brown in a first dyeing attempt! It will only fail horribly and you will stare angrily for hours at the ugly brown stain on your yarn :/
Ad for Kool Aid's Wacky Warehouse themed around the newest flavor, Sharkleberry Fin. However, surprisingly, the Kool-Aid Man mugs are colored blue for Berry Blue.
Children were greeted by a group of mad scientist librarians. The children explored sensory bins filled with worms, frog eyes and super cold snow. They also played STEIN (bingo), made a monster receipe book and performed a science experiment, making a lava tube. The children also had some really super yummy snacks, fritos and ketchup, blue jello with gummy worms and sour gummy worms and to wash it down was green apple koolaid.
