Exactly, you find a relatively small object, take your camera with a strong wide-angle lens and go to diving station :-). Then 100 mm icicles become huge stalactites of ice.

Genau, man finde ein relativ kleines Objekt, nehme seine Kamera mit einem starken Weitwinkel und begebe sich auf Tauchstation :-) ...dann werden aus 100 mm großen Eiszäpfchen riesige Stalaktiten aus Eis...
Wer schonmal am Hintersee war kommt an diesem Motiv meistens nicht vorbei. Die Ruhe an dem Abend war fantastisch. Am Hintersee ist deutliich weniger los als an dem nah gelegenen Königssee - steht diesem aber an Motiven in nichts nach.

Anyone who has ever been to the Hintersee has probably seen these trees. The tranquility of the evening was fantastic. Around the Hintersee there is clearly less going on than at the nearby Koenigssee, and it’s got a lot to offer in terms of photography.
Yesterday I made a great roundtrip and hiking tour with me daughter. We took the boat from Schönau to St. Bartholomae and from there up in the mountains following the "Rinnkendl- Steig". This fixed rope route has a fantastic view over lake Koenigssee and with this fantastic Bavarian weather it was just great. We followed the lake on a level of about 1400 m hight back to where we started. More photos to come...
I took this photo on the boat tour from Schönau to St. Bartholmae...ahead on the left hand side St. Bartholomae appears and in the middle - the mountain in the background is part of the "Watzmann" the highest mountain in this region.
View from St. Bartholomae lakefront. The quality of the water is amazing. You could drink it - but unfortunately in Bavaria nobody drinks it - Bavarian's do not drink water - Bavarian's only drink beer :-)

Winter Panorama am Königssee, Bayern
Dear friends, I was really busy the last week - but mainly with what I like most - travelling, hiking and taking pictures... and I want to share a few impressions with you.
This was on last Friday at lake Koenigssee and sometimes you need a bit of luck. I missed the earlier boat to St. Bartholomew by a few minutes. Yes, really good luck - because it was totally foggy. And as you can see - that changed drastically an hour later when the sun won the fight - a fantastic drama - just when we were on the middle of the lake.
Here you can see St. Bartholomew and the "Watzmann" massif in the background.
Liebe Freunde, ich war die letzte Woche sehr beschäftigt - vor allem aber mit dem, was ich am liebsten mag - Reisen, Wandern und Fotografieren ... und ich möchte ein paar Eindrücke davon mit Euch teilen.
Das war letzten Freitag am Königssee und manchmal braucht man etwas Glück. Ich verpasste das frühere Boot nach St. Bartholomäus um ein paar Minuten. Ja, wirklich viel Glück, denn es war total neblig. Und wie Ihr sehen könnt - änderte sich das drastisch eine Stunde später, als die Sonne den Kampf gewann - ein fantastisches Drama, gerade als wir mitten auf dem See waren.
Hier könnt Ihr St. Bartholomäus und das Watzmann-Massiv im Hintergrund sehen.
I just want to add a wonderful video from the Olympic games - unbelievable...
I picked up the idea from Helmut to try a b&w version of the last image. I found this a good idea and when I finished the b&w version in low-key I thought why not try a combination of both - quite some work because it was not that easy to isolate the green area that you see in this image...but I want to give it a try and hope that you like it :-)
Ich habe die Idee von Helmut aufgegriffen und eine Schwarzweißversion vom letzten Bild gemacht. Als ich die fertig hatte, dachte ich, warum nicht mal eine Kombination von beiden probieren...das war doch eine Menge Arbeit, weil ich das Grün, was man oben sieht nicht so einfach isolieren konnte - waren ja auch noch eine Menge grüne Flächen im Rest des Bildes...aber ich wollte es mal versuchen...vielleicht gefällt es Euch ja...
