Scanned 4X5 B&W Plus X Pan Pro 2147 neg. Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 & Lightroom 5 for some minor post to help bring out some details - cropped to 16X9 ratio to take off some excess sky and a touch off the right side.
Image was recorded while on a trip from California to Montana in 1977. This scene was next to the main north bound highway, US 93, to Montana from Wells, Nevada - I 80 from Reno. Long stretches on 93 look barren or little evidence of human habitation (at lease 40 years ago), so when I saw this scene, it was a no brainer.
Camera used was my basic Calumet 4X5 w/Graphex Optar 203mm f/7.5 lens. We're talking a low budget student purchase in 1961 - and still have it. Still in the process of scanning some of my old negs. and transparencies for digital storage. Some, like this one, are being shared on Flickr. Call it a trip back in time when digital capture was still in test labs.

Jahrhunderts bieten.
After a refurbishment that was completed in 2018, the historic glass houses are presented as they were when they were built. The three greenhouses correspond to three climate zones. The planting is based on documents of the time, so that the glass houses again give the impression of the second half of the 19th century.

Found out after testing all the distance markings are off hence pretty much everything out of focus. Infinity is at 16ft. on the camera for example. Lovely swirl to some of the images from the lens though.
Update: I've since fixed the focus issue.
