Carson’s Robotics: The Cactus County Robot Factory.
The people of Cactus County are enthusiastic about new technologies and passionate about NASA and space exploration.
Although at best details are sketchy, Carson’s Robotics [formerly Carson’s Blacksmith & Stables] is known to have some pivotal involvement in space exploration, supplying equipment, knowhow and people to NASA. Ask someone from Carson’s exactly what they do and they’ll tell you they “make robots” but you won’t get much else out of them. Much of the work undertaken by the Carson’s workforce is top secret, and though a warm and friendly people in Cactus County, they do not like talking about what happens inside Carson’s Robot Factory.
Carson’s most controversial robot to date was the “Red Star” robot range. “Red Star” robots were fitted with a front mounted “emoto-switch”, a device intended to replicate human emotions. However, developmental problems resulted in only two workable settings, “good” and “evil”.
Whilst in the “good” setting a “Red Star” robot was a boon in the home and workplace. However, it was found to be troublesome when set to “evil”. After an attempt by several robots to take over control of the earth and enslave all humankind, it was decided to withdraw “Red Star” robots from service until further R & D in automated emotional responses could be undertaken by the Carson’s team. All robots already in general circulation were recalled.
There are rumours that one “Red Star” robot escaped the recall and crossed the border into Mexico. However, no-one at Carson’s will comment on this.

On June 12th, D’light Talk, a seminar called “ Click The World : Draw The World With Light” was held at D’light, which is located in Samsung Electronics Building. The seminar featured two photography classes by Jong Hoon Kim, and Youn Hee Jung, who are currently active as professional photographers in Korea. WB1000 was introduced in the seminar. A great deal of people from high school students to elders in their 50’s participated in the D’light Talk.

Red carpet. Great singing from the College Choir. Wifi at the Balai Pelajar. Students allowed handphones. Students proficient in English. Those were few of the surprises I had today when I visited my former college.
I was honored to be invited to officiate a program there and spent slightly more than an hour at the rostrum, giving motivational talks and taking questions from the floor. It went very well. I had the chance to impart what knowhow I had to help them prepare for their exams and future.
I also got to meet my former teachers and visited my old dormitory. Some of the building had been renovated since I've last been to Terendak in 2009 - I was there for a career talk. The main one being Block F being built up to three floors - my batch were the first to use the old Block F back in 1985, and it was a double-story building.
The main cafeteria were also extended to accommodate the growing number of students. The playing fields also looked better maintained, compared to when I was there as a student.
I had a nice chat with the Principal as well. I was glad that he put plenty of emphasis on co-curricular activities rather than just all studies. The choir were definitely going strong. I remember how frustrated I was as a student when being told to just study, and the Principal then not giving a hoot about anything else. Something which I touched during my talk.
All in all, it had been a fruitful day. I was also approached to visit other MRSM as well. That would be at the mercy of my tight schedule though. Should I be invited again, I would definitely return in a heartbeat.
