Auszeichnung „Dialog Schule – Chemie“ vergeben / Lehrerkongress mit mehr als 300 Besuchern
Bildungsthemen von Berufseinstieg bis Energiedidaktik
Filderstadt – 21. November 2013.
Auszeichnung „Dialog Schule – Chemie“

So lucky to have had the chance to meet these two beautiful people from Berluti, Delphine Astoux (Wholesale Director at Berluti) second from the left and Jean-Michel Casalonga (Master Shoemaker for Berluti Bespoke Collection).
That night, during the event, we were talking a lot about the brand and how the brand kept its tradition, heritage, history and savoir-faire from time to time.
It is said that in order to make a single pair of Berluti bespoke shoes, it takes around 50 HOURS OF WORK.
Pretty amazing and incredible to think of how much effort that they put into making a single pair of Berluti bespoke shoes collection!
FYI, Berluti has been around for 121 years since it was founded by Mr. Alessandro Berluti. So, the fact that it is still around and keeps on growing and expanding are so astonishing and mind-blowing.
In SouthEast Asia alone, Berluti only opens 3 stores. 2 in Singapore and 1 in Indonesia.
It is such a great honour that Berluti decided to open up their third store right here in the Indonesia's capital of Jakarta!
Note: Famous shoes from Berluti including Andy Shoes (named after the late pop-artist, Andy Warhol) and Alessandro Shoes (named after the founder of the House, Mr. Alessandro Berluti).
Congratulations to Berluti Plaza Indonesia for the grand opening of your store once again!

Russia has recently joined other BRIC and developed economies in enhancing its investment and trade activities in Africa. The continent is not only an interesting hinterland for emerging market goods and services, but could serve as an important springboard for those firms with global aspirations in the provision of energy, other commodities and manufacturing.
1) What are the primary strategic interests of Russian business and finance in the African markets? Which African countries are best positioned to engage BRIC and developed economies?
2) How can investment in African hydrocarbons, in particular natural gas and LNG, help Russia realize its aspirations for extending its reach in global energy markets?
3) What African sectors are best positioned to benefit from access to BRIC capital, knowhow and markets?

Manufacturer: AgniTurbo Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Rose Motors
Nationality: India
First assembled: October 18th, 2051
Birthplace: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Engine: 1.8 L Twin-turbocharged V4
HP: 673 BHP
0-60: 2.3 seconds
Top speed: 160.00 MPH
When AgniTurbo first unveiled the Valari GT sportscar, it was a welcomed yet bewildering addition to the roads. This company that had up until then built industrial machines and more simple roadcars was suddenly selling a small, lightweight mid-engined sportscar. Of course being a kei-class car it wasn't the traditional mid-engined supercar or anything, but its performance was still nothing to sneeze at. Powered by a turbocharged 4 cylinder derived from moto GP superbikes and weighing just under a ton, the Valari was no slouch. Being co-developed in partnership with legendary British automaker Rose Motors not only gifted the Valari with refined handling characteristics and some of the best high-performance knowhow in the industry, but something AgniTurbo wouldn't be able to give any performance car for a long time; pedigree. Rose has been around since the mid-20th century and is an absolutely legendary name in the field, their consultation work being considered absolutely invaluable. The Valari has alot behind it, and to show just how great of a performance car it was while hopefully increasing sales, AgniTurbo and Rose believed it should go racing. The problem is that there simply isn't alot of high-profile motorsports classes something in the Valari's bracket can compete in. Not alot, but there are some. Which weirdly enough was somewhat of an advantage for AgniTurbo and Rose, because this meant that whatever form a racing Valari took could be a bit more focused.
Agniturbo and Rose at first took the "focus" very seriously, and hosted a one-make racing series for Valari owners. This doesn't exactly garner as much pedigree however, and needed something a bit more visible, if only marginally so. Fortunately there was an answer. Hillclimbing is a motorsports discipline that features competitors racing against the clock on an uphill course. Many sanctioned hillclimb events feature multiple divisions, from make-specific categories to completely unlimited classes for anything that can pass a basic safety inspection and meet the hillclimb's general rules. Somewhere in the middle is the Time Attack division, which caters specifically to production-based cars modified for racing. This is where AgniTurbo comes in. With such rather open-ended rules giving them plenty of room, the Valari was suddenly a very viable racing platform. With AgniTurbo's resources and Rose's extensive motorsports knowledge, what came out on the other side was a formidable racing weapon. Simply dubbed the HC for "Hillclimb", the visual modifications alone are so extreme its hard to find the original Valari under all of it. And even when you get beyond its crazy appearance, what's under it is still borderline unrecognizable from the roadcar.
At a weight of 1,860 Ibs, the Valari already had a weight advantage beating that of some full-fledged racecars. Despite this, Rose Motors made one of the primary goals of the HC extreme weight shedding. The roadcar already used a graphene nanocomposite monocoque chassis, but Rose motors is renowned for finding ways to shed as much weight from a car as possible. The Valari is no exception. Any unneeded comforts like infotainment systems, AC/heating, sound deadening and so on was stripped out entirely. The passenger seat is even taken out, not just to cut weight, but so an extra intake for the engine could be added. Taking stuff away isn't all that was done. The panels for the Valari roadcar were either fiberglass or aluminum. Rose swapped them out for the same high-performance material the monocoque is made out of; graphene nanocomposite. In truth, the weight shedding from this change isn't that substantial, possibly even a bit negated thanks to the mandatory addition of a rollcage, but Rose wasn't leaving any stone unturned for the HC. Overall, it worked out, as the Valari HC comes in at an absolutely featherweight 1,565 Ibs. This alone would've made the Valari HC an impressive racer, since the roadcar already had plenty of power to throw its light weight around. But it would certainly help if it could do a better job at keeping that weight on the road. Good thing the HC has some of the most insane aero seen on a modern race car. The front splitter, side and rear diffusors, and rear wing are outright oversized for the Valari, but are entirely functional in providing massive downforce for the HC. Perfect for quickly moving through twisting mountain roads while giving the HC a very distinctive look. So, the Valari HC has the weight and the aero. But racecars, especially hillclimb cars, are about big numbers. And the HC certainly has big numbers on its side.
The Valari Roadcar utilized a 1.8 L turbocharged V4 engine taken straight from AgniTurbo's motorcycle division and modified by Rose Motors' MotoGP team. It's compact, light, and very high-revving and responsive. Not to mention quite powerful for what it is. That addition of a turbo gives it quite the boost, with the Valari roadcar coming in at an impressive 246 BHP. Not even close to the largest number on the roads, but for something in the kei class its absolutely massive. But even that's not enough for the extreme demands of hillclimbing. With this in mind, Rose made some major changes. The engine is still a 1.8 L V4, but this time not modified by Rose's MotoGP division. Instead it is straight-up the same engine AgniTurbo and Rose share for MotoGP racing. Even a total motorsports-spec engine wasn't enough, with Rose choosing to slap a second turbocharger on the engine. Both turbos on the HC are notably bigger than on the roadcar as well, of course meaning the power is bigger. Up to an absolutely insane 670 BHP. In a car weighing under 1,600 Ibs, the big aero makes that much more sense. If there wasn't anything pushing all those horses into the road, the HC would be borderline impossible to drive. It's an absolute deathtrap to anyone who isn't a seasoned racecar driver, but fortunately AgniTurbo had a few of those on hand to show off the HC's capabilities.
AgniTurbo first stuck with taking the HC local, entering it in the Manali Hillclimb event in Himachal Pradesh, India. It firmly won its class, and would compete in a few more hillclimbs in India before considering it ready for the world. AgniTurbo took the H/C to prestigious events such as the Feleac Hill Climb in Romania, the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb in the UK, the Gaisberg Hillclimb in Austria and more. The Valari HC truly cemented its reputation when it came to the United States, specifically to the famous Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. Pikes Peak is arguably the most internationally recognized hillclimb event in the world, meaning that with what AgniTurbo intended with the HC, it was inevitable that they'd find themselves at the famous Colorado mountain. Entering in the Pikes Peak Open division for modified production-based vehicles, the class the HC was outright specifically built for, the humble little roadstar from across the world made a fantastic showing. The HC wasn't going to beat any major records for the event, but it did win the Pikes Peak Open class for that year. With such a prestigious victory now to its name, the Valari proved itself as a great racecar and earned the pedigree AgniTurbo was after. This had some rather interesting effects on AgniTurbo's attitude towards the Valari. At first they considered making the HC a limited-production track-only model, which would be built on-demand in collaboration with Rose Motors. Rose would actually shut this idea down, arguing that even limiting it to being track only, the Valari HC was still too extreme for anyone who wasn't a highly experienced race car driver. Disappointing, but AgniTurbo would relent in the end, agreeing with Rose's thoughts. But they still wanted to do something greater with Valari Roadcar. And there's always room for something greater.
Hair – Treatment Program Which Is A Have to For Lovely Hair. one. Shampooing Tip: Lessen the volume of pressure in your daily life. Pressure can contribute to hair loss, so if you can decrease your pressure, you can potentially avert some hair loss. • Brush or comb hair totally to loosen dust and dead pores and skin cells from the head. Soaked the hair properly so that the beneath levels as properly as the prime are properly saturated with water. Tip: One more way to avert hair loss is by supplying your scalp a gentle therapeutic massage with your fingers. Massaging will enhance circulation to your scalp by opening blood vessels and warming the pores and skin. • Pour about one tsp of shampoo in a minor water to get a diluted resolution and therapeutic massage this diluted shampoo carefully into the roots with your fingertips, masking the total of the head. • With the flat area of your hand operate that shampoo into the bulk of the hair in excess of the prime levels. • Rinse totally with water right up until the shampoo has been fully washed off. • Repeat the very same treatment if needed. two. Conditioning • Shampoo the hair as directed earlier mentioned as a lot of moments as sought after and clean totally. • Pour approx. two-two one/two tsps of conditioner in your hair all in excess of. • Leave on considerably about five minutes and rinse off totally right up until the conditioner has been fully washed off. three. Drying Tip: Anti-depressants have been acknowledged to lead to hair loss. The substances in anti-depressants can lead to hair loss or a adjust in their hair. Observe that soaked hair loses upto twenty p.c of its elasticity and with it, considerably of its normal resilience. So take care of it as carefully as you potentially can soon after washing : • Squeeze out excessive water, wrap hair loosely in a cleanse towel, turban-vogue and push firmly from the head. Do not rub vigorously. • After the hair is no more time soaking soaked, the ideal issue you can do is to leave it to dry in a natural way. Tip: Do not dye your hair at property, make an appointment with a stylist! Ask for that they use foils, alternatively of a hair dye. Dyes typically incorporate severe substances that can demolish follicles, melt away the scalp, and enhance the likelihood of enduring hair loss. • When employing a blow dryer, capitalize on the management, lessen on the hurt : (a) do not start off drying right up until the hair is three quarters dry (b) do not hold the dryer in excess of one particular spot of the head for way too prolonged (c) do not let the scalp to turn into very hot (d) use a brush carefully to persuade the hair into the type you want and (e) do not keep on to blow dry on to hair that is previously dry. four. Brushing and combing Constantly brush hair when it is dry due to the fact brushing soaked hair lead to the finishes to break up. • Tilt your head ahead even though brushing as this boosts the blood source to the head and stimulates the hair. • Never ever use a sharp teethed brush or it may possibly tear the hair aside. • Wonderful hair demands a softer brush even though thick prolonged hair demands a even bigger brush with rigid bristles. • For combing soaked hair, use a comb in which the teeth are commonly spaced. • The ideal way to comb out tangles hair (knots) is to start off at the finishes and operate upwards slowly. knowhow-now.com/m/articles/view/Hair-Care-Routine-Which-I...
.SLOWLY, THE TRUTH IS LEAKING OUT. Like I said, this oil spill could have been fixed had the U.S. accepted help from foreign governments. While those that publically offered do not include China, realize that China HAS THE TECHNOLOGY to fix the spill and would have, in my opinion, been more than happy to demonstrate CHINESE TECHNOLOGY in this matter. This entire matter is a crying shame as we see the oil seeping into the marshland, ruining them for most of our lifetimes, or for the next 50 years. Couldn't we accept some help? We have helped the world. If the world can help us, my God, let it be...
Despite the vow by President Obama to keep the Gulf oil spill a top priority until the damage is cleaned up, 50 days after the BP rig exploded, a definitive date and meaningful solution is yet to be determined for the worst oil spill in the U.S. history.
So, you would think if someone is willing to handle the clean-up with equipment and technology not available in the U.S., and finishes the job in shorter time than the current estimate, the U.S. should jump on the offer.
But it turned out to be quite the opposite. .
U.S. Refused Help on Oil Spill
According to Foreign Policy, thirteen entities had offered the U.S. oil spill assistance within about two weeks of the Horizon rig explosion. They were the governments of Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Republic of Korea, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations.
The U.S. response - Thank you, but no thank you, we've got it.
"..While there is no need right now that the U.S. cannot meet, the U.S. Coast Guard is assessing these offers of assistance to see if there will be something which we will need in the near future."
Blame It On The Jones Act?
Separately, Belgian newspaper De Standaard also reported Belgian and Dutch dredgers have technology in-house to fight the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, butthe Jones Act forbids them to work in the U.S.
A Belgian group--DEME-- contends it can clean up the oil in three to four months with specialty vessel and equipment, rather than an estimated nine months if done only by the U.S. The article noted there are no more than 5 or 6 of those ships in the world and the top specialist players are the two Belgian companies- DEME and De Nul - and their Dutch competitors.
The U.S. does not have the similar technology and vessel to accomplish the cleanup task because those ships would cost twice as much to build in the U.S. than in the Far East. The article further criticizes this "great technological delay" is a direct consequence of the Jones Act.
What Is The Jones Act?
The Merchant Marine Act of 1920 is a United States Federal statute that regulates maritime commerce in U.S. waters and between U.S. ports. Section 27, also known as the Jones Act, deals with coastal shipping; and requires that all goods transported by water between U.S. ports be carried in U.S.-flag ships, constructed in the United States, owned by U.S. citizens, and crewed by U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents.
The purpose of the law is to support the U.S. merchant marine industry. Critics said that the legislation results in increased costs moving cargoes between U.S. ports, and in essence, is protectionism, Supporters of the Act maintain that the legislation is of strategic economic and wartime interest to the United States. .
European Service Sector - Offshore Subsea Specialist
As discussed in my analysis of the oil service sector, the European companies typically possess the knowhow in offshore and subsea; whereas their North American counterparts excel in onshore drilling and production technologies.
So, it is more than likely that European firms do have the expertise to clean up the spill quicker and more effectively as DEME asserts.
Since the Jones Act means the Belgian ship and personnel cannot work in the Gulf, it does seem the Act has inhibited technology and knowledge exchange & development, and possibly prevented a quicker response to the oil spill.
Jones Waiver Time
On the other hand, waivers of the Jones may be granted by the Administration in cases of national emergencies or in cases of strategic interest. It would appear the U.S. government's initial refusal to foreign help most likely stemmed from a mis-calculation of the scale and deepwater technological barriers for this unprecedented disaster, and/or perhaps ..... pride.
Whatever the rationale, and if De Standarrd's claim that the Jones Act forbids the European companies to help fight the spill is true, it is high time the U.S. government grant the Jones waiver, and let this be an international collaborative effort.
It's always better late than never.

13/03/2023, Port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Islas Canarias, Spain.
Bear with me, while I explain how these Scottish truck drivers found themselves delivering equipment to an oil drilling ship here at Las Palmas.
Since the the oil price plunge of 2014-2016 - the biggest drop in oil prices in modern history - primarily caused by an oversupply in the market, most oil majors and prospectors found themselves in an uneconomically viable situation.
Over capacity in oil production and especially in oil exploratory drilling forced many of the mega expensive drilling ships to have their drilling contracts forestalled, or at the end of their existing contracts to find no new work.
These ships were being contracted at wild, but necessary prices of up to $500,000 per day, due to huge mortgages on the ships and their initial building costs.
(I believe the most expensive example's building cost was the Billion dollar plus 'Stena Icemax'. See here: flic.kr/p/RZ5QJr )
So, much oil exploration work was being undertaken on the West African coast, and across the Atlantic, offshore Brazil.
As the drilling ships became unemployed, the necessity of finding a suitable, large, deep-water port to keep them safely moored in, and with a pleasant climate to prevent corrosion and humidity damage, and that is where Las Palmas found itself to be the ideal location, at the 'crossroads' of the Atlantic.
In addition, the port has long established and experienced shipyards with specialist engineers and technicians.
The port quickly found itself in great demand for the laid up ships, and as an economic boost, there were lucrative mooring fees, tug requirements, stores, and large engineering projects to be had.
The drilling ships (& oil rigs) require ongoing maintenance and often, modifications to suit each specific drilling contract, both before and after completion.
The 'northern oil capital of Europe' is Aberdeen in Scotland and thus, specialist knowhow, equipment and hauliers are based there.
The result being a regular stream of heavy duty trucks, not least those of Grampian Continental haulage, picking up and delivering equipment to the ships, from all over Europe.
A former, regular driver, and Las Palmas visitor, for Grampian was Rab Lawrence, a well known contributor to Flickr, and a sometime correspondent of mine, although our paths never directly crossed.
Here are a few of his compatriots waiting to have their truck loads discharged, before having to catch the circa 36 hour ferry back to Huelva, or Cadiz, in southern Spain.
