One of the amazing Illusion Trail trompe l'oeil paintings by Paul Czainski in Staithes, Yorkshire. This one is hard to find in Barbers yard. Laura Knight (later Dame) came to Staithes as a very young painter and worked with the artists now known as The Staithes Group in the late 19th and early 20th century.
The Dark Knight here enjoying a moment in the Sun was busy replicating Warheads for banners, interior décor and eventually for sepulchral monuments. Four quarter embellishments were chosen to relay balance and order. The overall martial effect being thoroughly undermined by the not so short shorts. Long live historic fusion and much length to the shorts of those that choose such.
Helmet and shield constructed by Andrew Spratt twitter.com/andrewsp2009
I was extremely fortunate and honoured to be wielding the shield revised to resemble that of Robert the Bruce in Outlaw King and wearing helmets recycled from the castle gift shop packaging. The plastic sword shall not go unmentioned as is added a great contrast to the hand crafted items.

Artemisia will continue to make the enchantments we are best known for while leaving the forging to our Knight Grave Smith!
tombstone hanging on the wall. It's a lovely carving - with the dress of the times. I love the cape, the cross around his neck, and the detailing on the armor that he has on. Most especially (and don't laugh) the cod piece - which looks more like he's wearing a pampers "for boys" diaper....
