Yes - I like fresh fruit for breakfast whenever it is possible. Sometimes with yoghurt, sometimes with cereal.
I could only hint at my daily breakfast within 3" ... but I do eat rather more than this!

Macro detail of part of hand painted kitchen tile from Faro Island, Portugal.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
I watched "Julie & Julia" on the plane. To be honest, I didn't get it why Meryl Streep received that much acclaim for her acting, for all I could notice was her French accent. Well, if you don't agree, blame the plane's engine for having distracted me. However, I liked Julie (Amy Adams) and start to understand what's behind her passion for cooking.
A few weeks ago I was surprised to discover that I'd become half a workaholic, that daily pastimes didn't appear as interesting as some tasks in my job. So I walked in the kitchen and realized that a kitchen could be the best source of ideas to me. Cooking trains you to be patient and focused, and thus it leaves serenity in the mind and lots of images in the eyes. A spoon could lift me up. Spice jars give me some ideas for a simple shot.
And so I tried my best to find this shot, which was taken way back in Seattle. Here I didn't love the berries (loved them at the dining table though!) but that measuring spoon and those scratched tiles. The kitchen isn't fancy. My style isn't fancy. Nothing else is fancy. And yet life revolves around that. Ultimately.
The kitchen of Cathy Bailey and Robin Petravic, who own Heath Ceramics. The room has concrete countertops and stainless-steel appliances; all except the refrigerator are Craigslist finds. My guess is that's a Bertoia barstool with a lovely vinyl cushion in sunflower. The Heath tile color might be New Mango or Caramel, although it may be custom, since, you know, these folks run the place.
*Update!* It is custom. This, according to the SF Chronicle: The couple created the vibrant backsplash using Heath overstock and imperfect tiles left over from a custom order (for a building on the University of Pennsylvania campus). Bailey installed the tiles in a staggered pattern in the kitchen to help hide discrepancies in the lengths. Although the tile is not part of the regular Heath line, the bright yellow color was added to the company's tile palette.

'Burst' is a set of ornamental concrete tiles commissioned by KAZA Concrete for its 'Concurrent Constellations' collection for ‘100% Design London’. The tile design is conceived of as "bursting" stellar bodies closely packed within irregular shapes. Learn more at www.roughfront.com/burst/ and visit KAZA at www.kazaconcrete.com/designs/burst
The theme of Our Daily Challenge today was 'Round'. I love my kitchen tiles & the pattern & colours lent themselves nicely to being put in a spin to fit the bill of spinning 'Round'. This was a really quick & easy one to do but I quite like it. I haven't messed about with all the effects in PS Elements yet but you can have quite a bit of fun! :-)
So for once a job I hoped would come along quite fast IS in fact coming along quite fast... ...although I'll admit there is a part of me that is wishing I was doing a real mosaic along here!

Sutble and smooth shades of cream and brown help to cream a calm kitchen ambience. A featured mosaic tile wall can also really help to introduce some added texture and draw the eye.
So a quick backstory to this picture - this little dude's dad is a very smart fellow. He knows more than a few things about computers. He also hates just about anything Mac on principle alone. Sooooo we had the idea when shooting this little guy's 1st birthday party (which included a very unsuccessful LZP "Trash the Diaper" session... take 2 is coming soon) - we brought along this old Mac that Debby had and dressed little guy up as the stereotypical computer "geek", including the horned rimmed glasses (which he totally didn't want on his head) for a couple quick pics. He's come a long way since this picture (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lunahzon/4773776356/) huh? Sooooo happy we did this pic, truly another example of why I love the fun stuff we get to do in our job!
