No champagne. No caviar. Just everyday groceries, picked by hand, with care and intention. We live simply—doing our own shopping, choosing fresh tomatoes over luxury, and pickled beans over pretension. Today, I bought a lottery ticket. Who knows? Maybe tomorrow, simplicity becomes history. But for now, this is life. And it’s enough.
Goodmorning and a lovely Saturday and weekend to all : )
Thank you for your kindest comments and support!
The cold that has come visiting my organism is getting better and I suspect there are too main reasons for that:
~ Love
~ Spicy food
....I'm at the same time kidding and meaning what I say... Delicious & nutritious spicy chinese soup was brought to me by my caring Mister last night, making things easier.
Much better today, have already taken care of quite a few household jobs and made our usual, favorite chocolate cake/ soufle for breakfast. A chicken is being boiled so that we have chicken soup for lunch and there is now some time to sit back, relax and enjoy flickr inspiration!
The picture above is the first one I made when I returned back home the other day, and its ingredients are homegrown chilly peppers from the garden of a weekend house belonging to dear dear friends in Greece.
{ Efi, Costas & Serafeim thank you so much! }
I was recently hired by the German magazine Küche&Co, which features luxurious high-end kitchens, to photograph one of their projects in Leonberg, Germany.
Their so-called Kitchen Stories feature the local salesman and his client, embedded into an architectural photography series.

ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...
i've created a new group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome .
I recently got inspired by this picture and instead of placing this bottle ( which carried Spanish oil when bought at the super market) to the recycling station for white glass, I kept it, cleaned away the previous etiquette and got creative into making one of my own.
I love letters and I also adore texture, therefore a handritten milk from cotton twine was made.
However appealing this might be, it isn't practical as the interior of the bottle has to be washed with extreme care so as the external surface to remain dry. (milk is glued on paper)
Still, it is used in our fridge, holding my rice milk, making me smile every time I bring it out to eat a bowl of cereal :)

We've just landed in the kitchen, one of the upper deck galley's of the British Airways A380, where the magic happens, keeping everyone fed & watered.
British Airways Airbus A380 G-XLEF operating the daily BA 462 from London Heathrow to Madrid @ 15.15 hrs.
British Airways have been begun operating their A380's again since grounding during the Covid-19 pandemic, using them on daily trips to Madrid & Frankfurt, a real treat for enthusiasts during November/ December 2021.
Special thanks to Sophie, Marie & Philip, BA cabin crew for taking great care of me that day, what an experience.
Great to see the BA A380 back again #WelcomeBack
in the quiet moments away from the kitchen chaos, a chef in his crisp, blue apron takes a brief pause on the streets of paris, just near place blanche. his posture is relaxed, the phone in hand perhaps bringing news or simply offering a moment of disconnect. the worn texture of the blue door behind him contrasts with the stillness in his expression, a subtle reflection of the bustling world just outside the frame. the atmosphere captures a blend of resilience and reflection, a fleeting pause in a long day.
this was our theme (Ivy's and mine) for this week's collaboration: everyday activities around the house, things that each and every one of us does on a regular basis, the beauty and simplicity of common life :)
on the right you have Ivy's photo and the one on the left is mine:) it was a pleasure to put together this collage, hope you all like it and I'd like to wish you a lovely week on behalf of both of us!

....and after your fabulous pictures with which I had the pleasure to create the mosaic standing just next to this one, a flavour of my Domestic Stories, part of the first items to have been listed in the shop, when it reopened alsmost some three months ago, mainly featuring my newly launched photography line.
It has been a decision I cherish, still it needs lots of effort and organisation to keep everything involved in a high standard. The worst part for me personally is the promotion one, as I'm rather pumpered in usually being approached in life for everything and have not ever learned to "publish" myself.
I'm told that in this case being decent isn't helpful, still I find it difficult to do otherwise.
As much as I love my work, I'm striving to find the golden cut between offering quality and being commercial, selling products but never myself, accepting help from others, but not deceiving or using. Staying true to our values in a commercial world. Possible?
My compensation and hope is that there are so many wonderfully, talented, genuinly creative artists and crafters here on flickr and at Etsy, who are also fantastic personalities and have managed to do so. They serve as great examples to follow.
So, after more of my ranblings for today, wishing you all to have spent and be spending nice days and evenings!
~ Ivy, xx
...which other shape in nature can better represent simplicity and perfection at the same time other than the eggs?
Humble and nutritious, regardless of their size they are always a perfect elipse.
They could not but be included in the Minimal Kitchen Stories series.
...just summing up all the "Love" created for the "Kitchen Stories" of the "Domestic Stories" for my Etsy shop.
So far, so good....in expectation of the prints now...:) :)
